The yoga we teach is so much more than a stretch - we show you how to settle your nerves, release chronic tension and calm your busy mind. Our classes focus on the mental benefits of yoga - fitness and flexibility are just by-products of a regular yoga practice. Our 'main thing' is teaching beginners how to relax and calm down.
We have more beginner's yoga classes and Yin yoga classes than most Brisbane yoga studios. While we have heaps of Vinyasa yoga classes, they aren't as strong or fancy as other Brisbane yoga studios. If you want advanced yoga classes we're probably not your cup of tea. While our classes are physical, the emphasis is on cultivating calm through presence, awareness and mindfulness.

We teach you how to lower your stress and anxiety so that you can relax your body and calm your mind. Our yoga and meditation classes have a real mental focus as we believe yoga is so much more than a stretch, it's a tool to calm the mind. Our teachers are experienced in yoga and in life and together we have over 80 years of yoga teaching experience to share with you.
We know that your first yoga class can be scary, you can't touch your toes, you don't know the moves, you don't have a yoga mat and you're not sure what to wear. If you're older, out of shape or lack confidence in your body you won't be intimidated by our beginner's classes because we make them easier and slower and take the time to explain how to do the poses.
Stress sucks and left unchecked can lead to declining physical and mental health. The good news is that yoga is proven to relieve stress and just a few classes each week will have you feeling calmer, relaxed and clear-headed. Rest and relaxation are usually at the bottom of our priorities which means it never gets done.
We don't try to stop the mind from thinking (because that doesn't work), nor do we try to control the mind (know the saying 'mind of its own')? And having mental space is like clearing out the closet of your mind - it feels amazing to get rid of mental clutter. The Meditation Habit is a 6 week Live and Online Meditation Course where you practice every day in a group online.

I started yoga experience with Cultivate Calm Yoga center a few months ago. I found all the instructors are such great human beings, that they are super welcoming and encouraging with positive energy. I feel so much calm… and happy…I also attended meditation workshop with Monica. She is amazing! This center with all the wonderful staff is changing me in a good way, and is above my expectations! And I am going to be a definite long term member now!

I have been going to CCY for a few years now and it is well and truly incorporated into my being. I can tell you how great it is for your mind, body and soul but you really do need to experience this place because as soon as you walk in, you get a sense of calm and safety with loving arms wrapped around you by the Yogis and the Yoga instructors. There's no judgement here and caters to all levels of experience. I absolutely love it!! Make 2022 your CCY experience!!

my favourite studio.. the ambiance is just right. the classes have a lovely atmosphere. Teachers are all so very knowledgeable and provide you with instructions to help you with your holds and postures, I've been coming for about 5 years and love it!

Cultivate Calm is a great yoga studio. All of the yoga instructors are helpful, kind and professional! It is always a relaxing and refreshing experience, I could not recommend it more. As a 20 year old, I love the way that there's a mix of good exercise and mindfulness (which you often can't get at the gym). You always come out feeling reset.

A warm and welcoming community! You're guaranteed to fit in, the students are a diverse group both in identity and ability.
All of the teachers run excellent classes, which can be as challenging or relaxing as you wish - always lots of support to do things that suit you best.
I've been to a number of workshops over the years and they are always worth it!
All in all, Cultivate Calm does what it says on the tin!

The teachers are terrific in this studio. I was a bit nervous when I started four months ago but they helped got rid of my self consciousness very quickly. Older blokes like are made to feel very welcome. The poses have been great for my walking/running & I switch off there twice a week. Highly recommended
