Services
We have been in business for over 20 years and have assisted thousands of local pets from puppy or kitten hood right through to their senior years. Our veterinary team works as a close team and collaborate their wealth of knowledge to ensure your pet receives the best outcome. We have a Medical Consultant who is available for in-clinic assessment for complicated medical cases.
Our healthcare team can assist you with education, advice and care to ensure your pet has the happiest and healthiest life possible. We provide a full range of medical facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of dogs and cats. In order to keep informed on current therapies and procedures our veterinarians and nursing team regularly attend relevant seminars and education programs.
Veterinarians recommend desexing for a variety of reasons. Firstly, it prevents unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. In females, the spay procedure removes the reproductive organs and immediately stops hormonal cycles with the associated bleeding in bitches, and risk of pregnancy.
Castration of males can help prevent wandering tendencies which can lead to traffic accidents as well as some territorial behaviours in cats such as urine marking and fighting. The latter can lead to many an unplanned vet visit due to injuries which can in themselves require surgery and extensive treatment to resolve.

We recommend and stock a variety of healthcare products for your pets to protect against creepy crawlies such as fleas, mites, lice and intestinal worms. Please contact us for advice so we can recommend a product that suits your pet, environment and budget. We will tailor make a parasite control program for your individual pet, depending on his/her lifestyle and choosing amongst a number of excellent products now available.
Our x-ray facilities allow us to investigate animal injuries and health problems. Having the equipments on hand means we are able to quickly diagnose injuries particularly in emergency situations. This is convenient for you as your pet can have all treatment done at the hospital and also means our patients are given the best opportunity for recovery.

Very rude, not helpful for training puppy's with disability. Trainer had a go at me for asking a question; "how do I say No to my puppy" they said in a rude manner "NEVER YELL NO AT YOUR DOG" I never learnt how to ask no to my deaf dog! Made to feel very in welcome from the puppy school teacher. I did not go back. Not worth the time going. I already taught my puppy everything they try to teach... Just not actual help you ask for! They don't know anything.. and yes this is the same place. Was before COVID. We have a much better vets now.

Fitzroy Vet & Hospital have cared for our precious Dog for more than 11 years. They have consistently been super warm, friendly and professional. Today we unfortunately had to have our lovely boy Retro euthanised ... what is an absolutely horrendous situation was handled with such kindness, compassion and respect. We were incredibly well informed, all our questions answered, the paperwork process streamlined so it didn't for a moment interfere our emotional experience. The Vet was kind, gave us all the support and privacy we needed, respected and fulfilled our wishes and made the entire process

excellent, fitted us in on an extremely busy day, gave clear and detailed Information about the procedure for our dog and gave excellent recommendations. Everyone working there was extremely nice and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Seem to love dogs and really made a stressful situation a thousand times easier.

We’ve been taking our pet dog Hattie here for over 5 years and the team down at Fitzroy Vet Hospital have been fantastic. We signed up for the Best for Pets program and have the peace of mind of being able to visit whenever we need with genuine care and affordable prices. Our dog has had a knee operation, teeth cleaning, blood tests, ear infections etc.
We love this vet and recommend it to all of our friends and family.
Please keep up the great work and don’t fall into the trap of many other vets of trying to pray on people’s vulnerability and only think about making money..
