Services
Catalina has been the archetypal family business since its inception in 1994. The late Michael McMahon and his wife Judy were both fixtures in the Sydney dining scene since its modern birth at Berowra Waters Inn, and established a dedication to excellence in their restaurants that their children James and Kate also emulate.
I wanted to write a quick note to say thank you for our wonderful takeaway meal last night. It was my husband's birthday and we tried to plan something a little special. Our takeaway dinner tonight was absolutely delicious - so beautifully presented and packaged, and the candle was a lovely touch. So glad you're offering this menu during the lockdown.
We wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for an amazing Signature Pack lunch yesterday for my 'lockdown' birthday at home! It was fantastic - the food was perfect, including the very yummy chocolate cake and cocktails! We were so impressed receiving the Catalina Celebration Signature Gift Pack for 2 last night for our anniversary.
Perfect for a ladies lunch in Lyne Park, a boat outing, a beach gathering, picnic at home, or a gift. However as the picnics do sell out, particularly on the weekends, it may be best to place your order ahead of time.
THE PERFECT GIFT: Order one of our picnics, add a Catalina picnic rug ($40), add a Catalina cap ($20), add a couple of cocktails (from $19 each), and have it all delivered ($15 - to local areas only) with one of our hand-written notes.

There are a number of classic Catalina dishes that make an appearance on our menu every year but as we update it on a daily basis, you never know what we might have in store for you. As the best seafood restaurant in Sydney, it's a safe bet you'll always find snapper, scallops or barramundi on our menu but which of these you'll find on any given day will depend on the quality of the ingredients we find at the local markets.

I don't usually leave reviews but I've really been thinking about how great my experience was at Catalina.
As soon as I arrived with my beautiful partner we were greeted with big smiles and drink on the balcony outside whilst we read through the menu which already had my taste buds dancing, I had high hopes for this place as I really wanted to impress my birthday guest.
This restaurant quickly became my favourite as the staff treated us like VIP. I enjoyed talking to all the wait staff as they were so kind and tended to every possible need of ours to perfection, I had absolutely no complaints

We dined at Catalina for the first time on Friday night. We mentioned we were celebrating a 40th birthday. We asked if we could be sat somewhere near the windows but we were quickly dismissed by the snotty aged woman in the reception saying “there’s view everywhere”. She was moody that night, it kind of started our night sourly. the seats in the window and middle aisle weren’t occupied at all, even after we left. We then noticed that all the diners with kids/family are “strategically”placed on the far end and sides of the restaurant, despite the request/ occasion or acuity.

When me and my girlfriend arrived we honestly could not decide what to order everything looked amazing, so we ordered a bit of everything. Every dish we ordered just melted in our mouth, the textures of the food was divine it was so amazing. We will definitely be returning to Catalina by far the best restaurant we have been to yet.

After rescheduling a few times since December, we finally made it here. The food did not disappoint! Very flavoursome, great produce and decent-sized portions. Do not fill up too much on the bread so that you can fully enjoy the meal! Friendly and good service, and the views are fantastic of course. Note to self - next time ask for a table outside in advance. The only improvement would be to open the doors wider, so that the echo from the conversations can escape, and better choice of music playlist (think Bossa Nova classics) to give it an even better ambience.

It has been one of the restaurants on my culinary bucket list to check out and I was not disappointed. We both came and celebrated our birthdays this month, as a second choice to our original plans, and it was a perfect change of plan at that!
It's actually not terribly priced. Don't let the location or prestige put you off. You get what you pay for. So for food that is artwork, a beautiful location (I suggest going around sunset as we did), professional service and even a wine expert to help you mate wine to your food, it's definitely good value for going about spoiling yourself!

We got the 3-course meal at a fixed price of $130 pp. We did have to wait around 15 minutes in the cold to be seated. However, meal portions were extremely decent considering the price, and when compared to other fine dining restaurants. The ambience was amazing. And the food tasted incredible! I recommend this place if you're looking for a boujeè night out. Beware: they are currently under construction, so you may not get those notorious photos by the entrance (it can be overlooked when you see the food though).

My family's amazing lunch started with exceptional drink overlooking the beautiful waterfront views of Rose Bay overlooking the harbour before we enjoyed our beautiful lunch. The bouillabaisse was exceptional with a perfectly cooked piece of marron well balanced with saffron & indulgent caviar. I had the snapper for main which was also perfectly cooked however I was given a smaller portion that some of my family members who ordered the same dish but that wasn't a big deal. Lots of people told me the duck was the most tender and delicious duck dish they've had in a long time so I would recommend
