Black Toast
Black Toast is a blend of creative and eclectic energy reminiscent of Greenwich Village in the 1960's. Residing in a converted 19th Century furniture factory, the expansive floor space is resplendent with exposed joists and a beaming sun filled atrium that spreads light across the incongruous and funky decor.

Black Toast is available for catered functions. Its unique avant garde appeal and split-level formation is ideal for major celebrations, exhibitions and corporate luncheons. For the discerning food and coffee lover we now stock some of your favourite treats so you can take them home and enjoy them at your pleasure.
Services
Black Toast's charm is as captivating and authentic as the nutritious and wholesome foods we serve. There's nothing complicated or pretentious at Black Toast. It's all about the produce - fresh and sustainable Aussie produce. Our food is nature's product; hearty and imaginative breakfast and lunchtime offerings for mid-week people on the move or our lazy weekend pleasure seekers.

I went to Black Toast to get a takeaway coffee, and the staff behind the counter was having a lovely chat with a customer (which was lovely). However, they kept on talking and I was waiting behind them. Finally, the lady served me and I had to repeat my order.
After she brought out the coffee with both hands, she gave one to the loyal customer, making eye contact and said goodbye (which is lovely) but to me she just handed me the coffee without making any greeting or eye contact whilst continuing to speak to the loyal customer.
This is disappointing because it shows that I am not as important

Reasonable price, very friendly staff and delicious.
I had the corn zucchini fritters, I recommend you order this!
They have many sandwiches as well which I want to try later.

One of my favourite cafes in the city. Iโ€™ve been to Black Toast many times and always received a great service with delicious food and great coffee. The cafe looks small from outside but stretches a long way. Love the rusty/wooden decor. Food presentation is also great and great food options on the menu.
I strongly recommend this cafe. A must try.

Awesome cafe just off the main stretch in Annandale. Cafe looks small from the outside but stretches a long way back and down so plenty of space. Had the corn fritters (very tasty, chutney is a highlight as was the bacon) and the saracha crab scrambled eggs (be warned this packs a sting!). Friendly staff will be back for sure.

Visited Black Toast for the first time and it's such a spacious cafe, definitely didn't see it coming from the entrance. Loved the open space and service was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the flavours of the BT Wagyu burger, juicy and packed with lots of protein! The mushroom & cheese toastie was easy to eat and would be great for those who are on the go. Last but not least, the black sticky rice pudding was a light and refreshing dish. Meal portions were great, could share between 2 comfortably. Highly recommend if you're in the Annandale area :)

This is the second time I came back to Black Toast coffee shop. This is the best place to hang out with friends and have a good time with family. The foods are excellent and delicious. It doesn't matter which dish you pick, you will have the best food with great portion. The staffs are very fast and friendly. My favourite dish is Sriracha crab meat with eggs๐Ÿ˜ and the best carrot cake than ever ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘.
I strongly recommend everyone to go to Back Toast coffee shop ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Lovely and family-friendly cafe in Annandale. Very friendly and helpful staffs. The place has a small front, but the Irresistible aroma of Campos coffee brought us in, ordered soy cap, so far the best I have had in Sydney. Went there early this morning around 8ish, place was packed in 30 mins, will definitely come back.

A beautiful place for brunch in the heart of Annandale. If youโ€™re not there by 10, expect a wait for seating but the place is huge so it wonโ€™t take long. The big breakfast lives up to its name as the serving is huge - friendly service and great coffee

Black Toast Cafe is the perfect place to sit down for a few hours or meet with friends over good coffee and a modern menu. The Cafe tucks into a long corridor leading to a back room with natural lighting out the back and the staff were courteous and helpful. The Campos coffee was on point and they were particularly helpful with the flexibility with which I ordered the sriracha chilli scrambled eggs with no toast. Well recommended.

Yum yum yum! So many yummy breakfast choices. The big Brekky was a huge plate but it was a perfect mix of a little of everything! Also the bird brekky was also surprisingly filling even though it looks small. The cold drip was tasty and the tea was served in a tea pot. Would definitely go back and will tell others to as well!

Being one of my local cafes, black toast has great food and okay coffee. It's not the baristas skill that's makes me not really enjoy the coffee but the roaster. I've never been a fan of Campos coffee. The food is pretty great though I'd say better than most Aussie cafes and the service is very friendly. Also the decor is very cool with an almost Americana kind of feel.

Suggested by one of our friends who is local, this cafe is surprisingly roomy inside, cooling provided by overhead fans. All meals enjoyed, especially two of our group who had El Capitane. Another had quiche & salad (huge slice of quiche!) and I had homemade lamb shank pie ... all delicious, coffee was great, service warm & friendly too.
Very conveniently located right at bus stop in Booth Street, suited me fine as I wanted a break from driving ... most of others are non drivers anyway, noone wanted to walk too far in current heatwave.
We will definitely be meeting up here for a meal

Previously by another incarnation, the Gallery Cafe, Black Toast has served good coffee to us for years. The owner is a friendly guy, but he doesn't make the coffee well, so avoid. Good food and the place is huge, which it definitely does not look like from outside. Get a space down the back in winter and outside the front in summer.

Hidden gem! The front facade of this cafe restaurant assumes that it's rather small. But after I peaked my head in its big!! They have an open floor in the back with sunny seating.

Super eclectic with unmatching chairs, local artwork, rustic decor. Water served in glass milk jugs

The downstairs acts as a function room and today they are selling Mother's Day flowers.

The specials board notes chorizo eggs, birdie breakfast, and a breakywrap. I'm only peckish so eggs on toast. Around $14 and $4 for
