Tin Can Bay Motel is set on one acre amongst peaceful surroundings. With only 12 rooms, you'll receive personalised service that has long been forgotten in large hotels. Each room contains a kitchenette with all crockery and cutlery, a fridge, microwave and electric frypan on request. The swimming pool is surrounded by trees, plants and flowers and birds, the perfect place to relax.
Tin Can Bay Motel is located 219 km (approximately 2.5 hours' drive) north of Brisbane and 71 km (I hour) south of Maryborough. Gympie is the closest large town only 57 km to the west and Rainbow Beach is only 31 km to the east. You will use the Bruce Highway to reach us from both the south and the north.
Dolphin Feeding every morning, year round at Norman Point, next to the boat ramp between 7.00 - 8.30 am. Bookings are not required, however, it's a 'first in - first served' basis in regard to the feeding, so we suggest that you arrive there around 7:00am to ensure you secure your entry for feeding time.
A: Standard check-in time is 2pm but give us a call if you are arriving earlier and we will make arrangements for an early check-in if possible. A: No but if there is anything you need, just ask and we will try to accommodate your request. A:2 minutes by car to Tin Can Bay Shopping Centre and 5 minutes by car to Cooloola Cove Shopping Centre.
Small Dogs are most welcome to come along and stay with you in your room at the Tin Can Bay Motel. Please ensure your dog is on the list of approved breeds below and remember to talk to us about bringing your pet along at time of booking so that we can ensure you have a Pet Friendly room.

What a wonderful charming motel!!! We stayed 3 nights in 2 queen rooms (hubby & I in one & 2 teens in the other). The rooms are very clean, modern & spacious. The kitchenette is fitted out with all you need. The bed was super comfy & the aircon was fantastic! The surrounding gardens are lovely & it’s so nice to wake up to singing birds. The pool was well maintained & the bbq area is great. The bbq was spotlessly clean & had all the utensils you need. Location is fantastic with the inlet & bird watching boardwalk a short stroll away. Cannot recommend this cosy 12 room motel enough!!! Thanks Richard

Owner/manager Richard was very obliging and welcoming. Our 2 night stay was very comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean and had the basic necessities, which was all we needed. A nice touch was the fresh milk in small glass bottles supplied in the fridge (much nicer than the usual uht packs).
Not sure when we will return to Tin Can but when we do we will book here again.

Stayed here over the weekend, and loved every moment of it. The rooms are clean, organised and inviting. Air-con is a lifesaver on those really muggy days, easy on-site parking, laundry room is fantastic, they have magazines and books to borrow, great pool. Kitchenette is stocked with essentials-cutlery, bowls, toaster etc. Loved the little milk bottled in the fridge. Quiet location allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. Manager is very welcoming, friendly and professional with great communication. We really loved staying here and will be back.

Richard and his team were so welcoming to us and our dog yesterday. The highlight for my husband was the fresh milk. The highlight for Chilli was the beautiful nature reserve right beside our room and and for me it was the spacious room, the towels for the dog and how welcome we were made to feel. 🙂🙂
