Although popular it's certainly not the most prestigious location. The night I was there, there was a celebration of 50s 60s and 70s music. The music itself was way too loud and even with earplugs I still suffered a massive headache. The staff were friendly and helpful but the place could sure do with some serious renovations to make it look more modern and relevant

Best place in Perth to go see the live bands, dance and have a fantastic time. The Pub grub is great value and excellent quality, the drinks menu is extensive and caters to all. Heaps of parking and no accessibility problems. If you're going to see a band, recommend you book a table for dinner and priority access into the venue.

Keen spot, especially for comedy nights!
Food is good (if not terribly fast) - typical pub fare, some friends said the pizza was quite good, and they've got a good beer selection to boot!
A big smoking area is outside, and additionally they've got 3 different bars inside - a venue area, an upscale area, and a local tavern/pub area, so you're bound to be suited no matter what you're wearing.

I remember the first time I went to the Charles Hotel, I was around 19 years of age and we went for my friends Hens night as the Chippendale's were on. I got carried onto the stage by one of the strippers, which I wasn't happy about as my skirt was extremely short. It was that night that I found out that some men shave their chests? how very odd I thought. My boyfriend at the time wasn't too happy when he picked me up because he caught a woof of coconut oil as I sat in the car.

The Charles Hotel is a mish-mash of various entities - a strip club, live music venue and a pub serving pizzas and steaks. In all three respects, it does a decent job, but also does not excel.
The Charles is probably most popular as a strip club. Depending on the day, there are various themes. The clientele during then is almost exclusively male, although there might be the odd female here and there. Not all the girls look healthy - some obviously had breast implants, while a few looked as though they were under the influence.
