Eye Life was born in 2006 in St Kilda around the corner from our current Barkly Street location. Kate and Daryl are still there today from the original founding team and continue to welcome back many of our ongoing customers. After having spent several years in the Optical business, Eye Life was conceived as a fresh idea of bringing the best of eyewear and sunglass design and brands into one location.
Founded in 1996. Co founders Jeff and John combining their natural affinity for photography and design came up with a plan to introduce stylish eyewear inspired by vintage frames from the 50's through the 80's. Made by hand to the finest of details. With DITA we have Japanese titanium and bamboo polished acetates.
Here's what I say, Garrett is a an eyewear design futurist forging the path very much in his own right! Enough said! With a cool aesthetic, Garrett Leight glasses and sunglasses are so uber now but timeless at the same time. But why would you? Look no more!

The only place I would even consider to go to for glasses and sunglasses! Ive been a loyal eyelife customer for years. Highly recommend to all my friends that are looking for eye wear. Kind and knowledgeable staff. They always treat everyone with integrity and care. They have always gone above and beyond, especially during covid to make sure that all customers in store feel comfortable and safe. Very honest and straight forward with their recommendations. There have been many times when they would have had the opportunity to sell me the more expensive pair of glasses but have instead recommended

I was greeted at the door, very friendly person, who said do you have a mask? I replied back "No"
He said "do not worry I will go get you one"
I said "OK"
I open my app Service Victoria and scan the code, and sanitise my hands.
Once finished I took three step to my left, wait for my mask from the staff member.
Different Staff member to the one getting the mask, behind the counter call out rudely " Go to the entrance of the store"
I looked puzzled.
Staff member in a loud voice rudely " Go to entrance"
I said " How about I just get out"
Staff member " Yes get out"
I am double vax, happy

Best opticians in Melbourne. I’ve been going to these guys for glasses for over 10 years and highly recommend them. They have the best international optical frame and sunglasses brands to choose from. Customer care and service are second to none. They go over and above to make sure everything is 100%. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for glasses.

Exceptional customer service and follow up by Kate, Daryl and the team at Eyelife. The eye testing service they offer is much more detailed and thorough than most other places and I was given valuable information and technical explanations during the selection process of frames and lenses which enabled me to make the best choices. When it was time to pick up my purchases an appointment was booked for the fitting of the frames where once again the service was second to none. The bottomless fluid eye cleaner, pen and extra cloth cleaner was a bonus too. Highly recommended!
