The Motel is located within 10 minutes of CBD and the Melbourne Airport. The tram stop to the city is at the front door and Essendon train station only 5 minutes walk. It also has easy access to the Marvel Stadium, MCG, Melbourne Showgrounds, Melbourne Zoo, Queen Victoria Market, both Moonee Valley and Flemington Race Courses as well as the State Netball and Hockey Centre.

We are close to many of the tourist attractions of Melbourne - Moonee Valley & Flemington Racecources, Melbourne Showgrounds, Highpoint Shopping Centre, Melbourne Zoo, DFO and Queen Victoria Market, just to name a few.The tram stops right outside our door and can take you into the City (approximately 40 minute trip).

Room was a little small but good for the price. Very clean and beds were comfortable. Only thing needed was a little bit more light in the room.
Staff were friendly.
Easy check in and out.

A WARNING to all single female travellers. Do NOT go to this motel !! At 10.30pm the night I arrived, the manager tried to gain entry to my room. He did not knock or call out, the key was put into the lock and the door opened. Thankfully I had put the chain on the door so he could not get any further and made the extremely pathetic excuse of asking me whether he had left his phone in the room. I have never had an experience like this even in a 3rd world country. STAY AWAY !!!

I recently stayed at Alexander for four comfortable nights.
The location is great with the tram to the City almost out the front of the motel. I discovered some great nearby cafes for breakfast and coffee. The Royal Hotel is also nearby.
Nigel, the manager, was very helpful and obliging.
Being such great value for money, I would happily stay there during my next visit to Melbourne.

Very disappointed to be shown to a twin room when checking in even though I had definitely booked a queen room. Bed very hard and narrow. A few cobwebs and dirty cupboard. Didn't expect luxury for what we paid but did expect to get what I'd paid for and a clean room

Well not much too say bad about it! But at the end of the day you pay for what you get! Cheap enough to stay there, but rather small once inside the room !! Beds are quite comfy and staff are relatively nice!

Upon arriving late, the owner came down with a smile and was more accomodating then a 5 star concierge. He offered to help with the bags, and let us know anything we needed, he was only a call a way. He then went on to tell me the rooms are "a bit old." How wrong he was. They are clean, with towels, extra blankets and warm. The common areas are immaculate and I hipe this place sees a boom when the pandemic ends, because they' deserve it. The location is perfect, with everything you need at the door step. Tha k you to the owners for making a tough week for my family that bit easier :)

Very clean comfortable room......exactly as I expected from a motel of it's age....great price....we chose it for it's proximity to the airport as we had an early flight were very happy with it.
Receptionist at check in was lovely, very helpful with info & check out receptionist was nice as well.
Would stay there again.
