We are an intimate and inclusive yoga and pilates studio in the heart of Melbourne CBD & Burwood East, offering Mat Yoga, Aerial Yoga classes as well as Mat & Reformer Pilates classes for any levels. We love our community and believe that we are all on the same journey, although we might come at it from different paths. Our mat-based yoga classes are suitable for all levels, please check the mat yoga class descriptions here. If you don't have yoga experience and wish to join the aerial yoga classes, make sure you book the aerial align or aerial 101 for your first class. For reformer pilates class, please book the reformer align class.
Situated on the 2nd floor of the Historic Nicholas Building, our beautiful studios are blessed with stunning views of the St Paul Cathedral and is bathed in sunlight. The wooden floor and white interior will relax and calm your senses from the moment you step in. We are proud to be the part of the world leading sustainable shopping centre, Burwood Brickworks, and offering traditional mat-based yoga, aerial yoga as well as mat pilates.
Aerial 101 is a workshop-style class that is designed for anyone who is new to yoga or aerial yoga. Join a small group class and get individual attention. Learn and experience the basics that you require for long term aerial yoga practice. An alignment focused aerial class, Aerial Align uses the aerial hammock to support and enhance yoga poses.
Come sweat it out with us in a 30-degree Celsius infrared heated room. This class is inspired by Bikram yoga and Iyengar yoga in which we practise in a hot but silent room (no background music). Teacher gives minimal cues on the poses, which gives the opportunity to turn our attention inwards and experience a more meditative practice.
An alignment-focused class, Reformer Align is designed to work with all of the 6 Pilates principles: control, centring, concentration, precision, breath and flow. Enjoy a 50-minute workout utilising the reformers to leave feeling stronger, longer and more mobile. An intermediate style class, Reformer Dynamic is designed to help sculpt the body with the help of the reformer and the original Pilates principles.

As a complete newbie to Yoga and Pilates, I couldn't imagine a more supportive group of teachers and people. I begun yoga practice at Little Mandarin Yoga through their Block Building 6weeks course. It was a very insightful and fun training course, guiding us to build a thorough understanding of yoga postures and learn to acknowledge our own ability.
Kelly the yoga instructor is amazing with her teaching method. Throughout the 6 weeks journey, her passion, attentiveness and patience has shown through her thorough teaching method. I was able to recognise my strengths and weaknesses and understand the details of poses which helps my own practices. My interest to continue practice yoga has definitely grown

If you find it nowhere to start your yoga practice or in fear of trying to venture out of your comfort zone. Come to little mandarin and embrace yourself with some zen. You won’t regret it!! Finally I find myself knowing what yoga really is and how to do yoga correctly without hurting myself. Seriously I have been going yoga for more than a year, that progress was minimal until I started coming to little mandarin. I came to their introductory course, Kelly is very knowledge and teaching us the details of each poses absent it has to be like that. I feel so fruitful every time when I finish the class. I highly recommended this to people who wants to learn yoga.

I started off with an introductory offer for 2 weeks and it changed my entire perspective of yoga. I used to think yoga was just about flexibility until I found later that it requires a lot of body awareness and strength. I then signed up for the 6 weeks beginner course because I wanted to learn more about the foundation of each pose and how to do them properly rather than just following through what I see in class. I find it so helpful because I can put them into practice and have a safe progressing journey with actual benefits and not injuring myself because of doing the pose wrong. Instructors

I would definitely recommend Little Mandarin. Instructors are highly engaging and involved in the practice. Every single one of them would fix your alignment to ensure full benefits are retained for each pose. This is one of the major reasons I returned back after the introductory offer as it helps with my progress.

I came to little mandarin yoga while on a 5 day trip to Melbourne. I did the aerial yoga Intro class and though I found it challenging, I really enjoyed it! Jowing is an encouraging and friendly instructor. Would recommend Little Mandarin to anyone living in, or visiting Melbourne.

My first Yoga class was at Little Mandarin Yoga and I love it. The overall ambience of the studio is relaxing, friendly, and cosy. (I enjoy a cup of tea they serve esp. after hot flow class ;p)
I started with 6-week Foundation classes as a beginner, which let me know Yoga’s basics like how to do each pose, how to use your body in twists, how to move with breath, etc. I must say, it was the best decision I have ever made to my body.
The basic course helped me a lot, preventing unnecessary injuries in my later practice. And I’ve done what I thought I couldn’t do after Jowing’s coaching

As a new yoga student, I have found Jowing and her colleagues to be outstanding mentors for someone like myself. The classes are fun and challenging and are tailored to the needs of everyone in the class. Having different styles of classes throughout the day are really helpful as well. The Little Mandarin Yoga studio is conveniently located a short tram ride from the CBD and very easy to get to from around the local area. Highly recommend that everyone gets down and gives it a try, you won't regret it!
