Sonoma Bakery Cafe
In a loaf of Sonoma sourdough there's freshly-milled flour, filtered water, sourdough starter and sea salt. In the people who bake it there's passion and integrity. Together, it's a simple recipe for enduring quality. From humble beginnings in a tiny country bakery, the Sonoma brand is founded on history, nostalgia and a simple desire to make great bread.

Our range of artisan foods extends beyond our signature sourdough breads to include handcrafted pastries, natural and toasted mueslis and specialty coffee - all of which stem from natural and humble origins. Buzzing with great food, coffee and conversation, our bakeries offer our beautiful range of handcrafted foods in a relaxed and friendly space.
Services
Every loaf of Sonoma sourdough contains freshly-milled sustainable flour, filtered water, sourdough starter and sea salt. It also contains passion, soul, hard work and integrity, fed with love by the bakers who make each one by hand. Named after San Francisco's Mission District, this impressive loaf is characterised by its golden chewy crust and custard-like interior texture.
We're so meticulous about our coffee that we've assembled a team of specialists dedicated to achieving excellence in every bean we roast and every cup we brew. Our philosophy is guided by a simple premise, to source, roast and brew coffees of distinct character, delivering an authentic expression cup after cup.
From our original artisan sourdough breads to the range of handcrafted pastries and mueslis, everything we make is created with fresh, wholesome ingredients and signature Sonoma flavours. Inspired by the classics, we lovingly craft and bake a range of pastries that have become favourites.

Soaked in syrup and filled with almond cream and flaked almonds, this croissant is twice baked to achieve its caramelised crust and melt in the mouth, soft interior.Traditional yeasted French style crescent pastry, crisp and light with a soft layered and buttery interior. Individually handcrafted using the finest ingredients.
We've designed our bakeries to be buzzing local hotspots of good food, great coffee and happy people. Our baristas use specialty coffee that we roast in-house, our sandwiches and pastries are hand-made fresh each day and you can leave with a loaf of your favourite sourdough under arm or dine with us.
At Sonoma we're always looking for great staff - Bakers, Pastry Chefs and Retail staff. You can find our current job opportunities on Seek.com.au. Sonoma make the best sourdough in the inner west. They sell out most days so go early.

There's nothing more to say.

Can't go to Sonoma without trying their bread. They ran out of what we were after. So we settle with Rye and Spelt sourdough which is equally good. The quality of their Sourdough is first class wish they have more variety.

I'm almost incapable of going into this place anymore - through no fault of theirs, mind you! No, it's due to the abject shame I feel at the fact that it took me three visits to properly pronounce the name of my favourite of their pastries: the kouign amann.
I'm blaming it on the fact that I hadn't had my first coffee yet, and theirs certainly does do the trick. Top it off with the avocado on toast and you are set to face down a whole day full of mangled attempts to pronounce Breton phrases.

They have the best coffee!

The Morning bun which is a cross between a Cinnamon roll and a Croissant is beautiful and is perfect for one of those peckish moments.

Sandwiches at lunch are an interesting variety, not plain, but simple yet satisfying.

Christian who works at the Glebe bakery has a remarkable and impressive knowledge of the Artisan products they sell, he is very helpful and always friendly.

Great coffee, limited breakfast menu but everything is great. This is a regular haunt of mine and I am never disappointed by the food or the friendly service! My favourite place for a catch up with friends.

All-natural bread that's so tasty you wish you could have it every day... Sonoma Bakery is one of the best bakeries ever to grace Sydney. The food is healthy but still oh-so-delicious that makes everyone who eats there doubly happy. They serve the best Turkish eggs that are so satisfying, you'll wonder if you can ever eat again. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and efficient. Their bread is baked daily and is super fresh. Their muffins, tarts, and cookies are exceptional as well. All in all, great value for your money because of the atmosphere, service, and the tasty

Sonoma Coffee is strong. Like, "I've been working out all day and I'm going to punch you in the face" strong. And I like it.

Whilst I'm not advocating domestic violence, sometimes it's great to get beaten around by a good strong coffee. And if they make it up to you with sweetness after (Sonoma has the best muffins around) then I'm even happier.

I woke up this morning in quite poor form (I mean, I SWEAR I didn't drink 4 glasses of wine on a Wednesday night, honestly!) and was craving... to put it bluntly.... pig. While a carnitas burrito would have been my absolute first choice, I soon realized that these things are not as easy to come by as I would prefer. A real "Dorthy, you're not in California anymore" moment. As a second choice, I figured I would see what a stroll down Glebe Point Rd could offer me. After a couple mind changes, I found myself in Sonoma Bakery staring at the case of sandwiches in awe and disbelief
