Established in 1954, the Beau-Rock Ballet School is well known for the well trained classical ballet students we produce. Our school has many talented graduates who have gone on to perform both here and overseas. The training system, devised by Australians for Australian students, follows a careful path of technical and artistic growth, designed to promote successful outcomes for all students.
We offer examinable studies in classical ballet, jazz and tap as well as enhanced studies in various other styles including contemporary, lyrical, commercial jazz and acrobatics. Our students are prepared for examinations, competitions and eisteddfods with excellent results across all styles.

Services
All items of uniform, with the exception of shoes, are now available direct from the studio. The Uniform Shop will be open on Saturday mornings between 9am and 11am, alternatively you can contact us by email to order (see image insert for price list). We recommend purchasing shoes from BLOCH, CAPEZIO or MDM Performance Dancewear online.
The Beau-Rock Ballet School is affiliated with the Southern Federation of Dance which offers progressive, up-to-date and examinable Jazz, Tap and Classical syllabi designed to develop musicality and quality of performance. Each syllabus is challenging, stimulating and allows teachers to build on their student's skills and sustain their interest in their chosen style of dance.
The Beau-Rock Ballet School enters students for the Southern Federation of Dance examinations, which are held during the first two weeks of September. All students who reach the required standard are encouraged to sit for examinations as they give the students something to aim for and achieve. They also give parents an external assessment of their child's progress.
The Beau-Rock Ballet School enters students in a number of competitions and eisteddfods throughout the year. All competition work is optional and non-selective. We do not choose students to enter competitions and any student is able to be involved. We strongly suggest however, that only those students learning classical ballet should enter as it is very difficult to reach the required standard otherwise.
The Beau-Rock Ballet School's annual concert is held at the end of term 4 at The National Theatre in St. Kilda. The day starts with rehearsals and staging for all items, followed by a matinee and an evening performance. It is definitely the highlight of the year and the students love it! As teachers, we love seeing everyone perform their best and are always in awe of the skill and performance quality all of our students display on stage.

I have been a student at the Beau Rock Ballet School for 20 years. It is like a big family where all the students support each other and inspire each other to be the best they can be. The creativity of the teachers is inspiring and the talent of the students blows me away whenever they perform. A privilege to be part of such a wonderful ballet school.
