Our Sydney Cooking School is a beautiful home situated in the exclusive suburb of Wahroonga welcoming our students to a special and unique experience. The Sydney Cooking School emphasises teaching the real Italian cooking, the home cooking that you can only find in a true Italian home. The working area is designed for kneading doughs such as pasta or bread, gnocchi or pasta frolla (short crust pastry).
Lido di Venezia, just four stops from San Marco is where the Venice film Festival takes place, where you can meet the real locals of Venice. Where life is just a little bit more relaxed. It is here where we have opened our doors for another culinary school in Italy. It is here where you see people holding hands feeling free to be casually romantic.
Luciana Sampogna opened the doors of Cucina Italiana in 1998. Experience makes the difference. It is our duty to teach passionately sharing the history of Italy which makes the school a unique journey to the heart of the country. We do not teach any other cuisine, we specialize and focus on Italian cuisine to deliver the best.
Cucina Italiana Cooking classes engender team building and have catered for many companies over the years, from private events such the rehearsal wedding of Daisy Turnbull to the opening seasons of the Wallabies. Our cooking classes are fun and a great way to bond and entertain your clients. Our classes are always 4 hours long, four to five course meal, giving you a unique experience that sets this cooking school apart from the others.
We truly believe that through cooking we can bring people together, we can share amazing new experiences and unfold the real you as we try to balance the flavours of each ingredient, the flavours of life. Having completed two classes at Cucina Italiana Cooking School, I couldn't recommend more. From the fabulous house, lovely staff, delicious food and cute stories - to the charming, Luciana herself! The lessons are the perfect mix of hands on, watching and listening. And when you sit down to eat the prepared meal, its like being in Italy. The whole experience is beyond 5 stars and absolutely perfetto!

My daughter and I attended thiis class via gift vouchers from family members who know we love to cook and I thought it would be great to learn Italiian cooking from a master.
Enjoyed the 2 eggs in a flour circle little tips ....
My 3 stars is because I thought we would be cooking more and preparation of more courses noting we watched the pesto & risotto being cooked and the chicken dish etc. Was delicious but thought more input would be involved.

I had a surprise birthday party organised by my wife at Cucina Italiana hosted by Luciana. I found the experience very pleasurable even though I had to prepare part of the meal which turned out to be exceptional. Luciana is a wonderful host attentive to her guests and provides a running commentary on the origins of Italian cuisine in her own inimitable style.
I wish her well in these difficult covid -19 times.
I am an Italian and recommend Luciana's cooking school if you want to learn the art of authentic italian cuisine.

Well what a nice little surprise. I received a gift voucher from my kids to Cucina Italiana and really enjoyed the day. Tucked away in historic Annandale, Luciana was there to greet me as I walked in, shaking her finger at me for forgetting my apron! Right! Then it was straight into it. learning about the carnaroli risotto rice, setting the panna cota and handmaking the tortellini, all with a bit of Italian zest and tenacity thrown in. Thoroughly enjoyed watching over Luciana's shoulder (in her own kitchen mind you!) asking her questions. I'll be back!

On Saturday I was travelled to Italy...Luciana's home cooking school is really very special. It's not like most cooking schools that are minimalist in decor...her kitchen is one where you expect to see Nonna's making pasta. In a short time we covered many dishes and she took the time to explain the finer details. It's very well priced given that not only do you learn to cook, you'll enjoy 3-4 courses with wine! I highly recommend this special school. Re COVID masks were available, I brought my own and bookings were kept together...with distancing encouraged. I'll be back!!!

My husband and I loved it! The ambience is so authentic and we were so lucky to be transported back to Italy by Luciana and her team.
I've been to many Italian cooking classes before and I would definitely go back to Luciana's because it was so inspiring for future cooking. She taught not only about the meals we were contributing to but also golden rules for Italian cooking which will definitely elevate our cooking!
My husband is making the risotto tonight, only hours after the class, because we were so enamoured with the experience today.
I am gluten free and pregnant and they were very accommodating

Me and my friend attended the Long Italian lunch and pasta class! IT WAS AMAZING!! Luciana is an inspiration, she’s so full of knowledge, passion and loves a laugh 💕 The pasta making was challenging and thoroughly enjoyable and so worth it! The pasta was beautiful to eat, the sauces were full of flavour and the dessert at the end was mouthwatering. Luciana and the other cooks were so helpful and attentive, they provided white and red wine with meals (however I don’t drink) which would be a wonderful accompaniment. Thank you again for having me at your wonderful home, I have learned the art

The atmosphere is charming and the food you help to make is incredible. This is more of an experience than learning how to make everything completely on your own. But I've taken two classes here and I was successfully able to recreate the dishes at home. I took the classes by myself and other students were warm and welcoming. Next time I'll be bringing my partner as it's perfect for a fun date as well to learn something new. Highly recommend this Italian school!

This is the first Google review I'm ever writing, but I just have to because last night was so great. I took my partner here for his birthday. The food was incredible, and you are fed throughout the evening so you aren't left waiting 3 hours to eat. The cooking wasn't too difficult and Luciana had really great culinary insights that you don't get in bigger classes. The class was intimate, inside her home, with a warm feeling to it and a small group of people. There was also wine with every course.
