RK San
At the tender age of 15, RK had his first glimpse into a commercial kitchen in a traditional Japanese restaurant. From this lowly position, he embarked on years of rigorous training and aspired to become a Japanese master chef himself. RK's natural talent and ambition didn't go unnoticed.

In 2006 luxury resort One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives welcomed him to be their resident sushi chef, where he cooked alongside some of the world's finest Michelin star chefs. After moving to Sydney, RK joined the team in celebrity chef Peter Kuruvita's Flying fish and became the head chef in sushi and sashimi station in early 2009.

The worst sushi ive ever had in my life. Too over priced and overrated restaurant. The poor homemade quality sushi made with hot-warm rice, too salt and vinegary. Even there was no wasabi inside. Looks like the person who made this sushi does not have any experience in making sushi. Never recommend this place.

I don’t normally leave a review on google. I feel like I should do this time. I wouldn’t give any star. The food quality is way worse than any other Japanese restaurants I have ever been around the world. $3+ per each piece for ‘that’ quality sushi? Takeaway sushi place in shopping center would be much better. The dish of the cigar salmon was good(maybe premade by the chef?), and any other dishes are awful. All other dishes were definitely made by someone who has none of knowledge in Japanese for sure.

Cozy little Japanese restaurant that is a must try if you want quality food and exceptional service.
Spicy edamame, wagyu carpaccio, kingfish carpaccio along with the cigars & popcorn prawn are all amazing!
Portion sizes are pretty good. Personally didn’t love the spider roll and the creamy ponzu sauce on the seared salmon was very overpowering.
Visited this restaurant on 3 occasions now and will definitely be back.

Not a big fan of either the presentation or the taste of some of their dishes (especially the grilled squid and mushrooms sorry). The cigarette is definitely a must-have tho🌟🌟 The atmosphere in the restaurant makes it more like a family restaurant :) lighting isn’t good if you are aiming to take good pictures of your food.

First lunch of the year. Had an amazing experience at RK San. The food was very aesthetic and tasted even better. For those into Japanese cuisine, this place is a MUST. Better than Nobu and comparable to saké

The food was amazing. Count fault it. Eveything was cooked and presented perfectly. Felt like a much classier meal than what we paid for it. Worth the visit if you're a huge Japanese food lover like we are! Will be coming back for sure.

My wife made an effort to travel here for the sashimi. They present it well on a big block of ice and their wasabi is pretty good.
They put much care and attention to all their dishes.
The atmosphere can be quite loud from other clients.

Outstanding! Fresh, tasty and different! We decided to give RK San a go tonight as we’re big fans of Japanese food but don’t usually stray far from our favourite few as most just aren’t that good. After tonight, we have a new favourite on the list!
The food is a modern take on Japanese food and they do it very well! The produce is fresh and the dishes are so good it’s hard to pick a favourite. Ok, we actually ordered a second round of Snapper Ceviche so that’s probably my number 1!
The service is also attentive and friendly, they served one dish at a time which was perfect to enjoy

As bad as my photos are, the food was pretty great. Sashimi was fresh, enjoyed the cigar and Muguro Hana. Service staff were lovely and attentive. New local favourite for me

I saw RK San pop up on my Insta feed quite a few times, and thought why not check it out.
The food was okay, nothing jumped out at us! We ordered the tuna sashimi, miso soup, popcorn prawn, chef special nigiri, braised pork and we ordered the Cigar Tuna.
We were disappointed that the chef special nigiri had a lack of variety in the dish, it was 4 of each type of fish.
