Owner (and patriarch) Tony Cattafi, his wife Giovanna and their two sons Mauro and Fabio have not let the years inhibit their passion for Italian cooking, using the freshest ingredients and serving it with the hospitality and spirit synonymous with the mother country.Our iconic double story terrace, in the heart of the Lygon Street precinct, provides a warm and welcoming setting that can cater for groups of any size.

Visited restaurant two weeks ago, 25 minutes before anyone came to take order, not to mention waiter is the rudest person I ever came across.
No split bill, not to say bill always higher than there menu price, they over charge you and rip you off!
$8 for glass of coke!!
Twice they toke our order and told us it's not available on menu,
Not going back again there is many better reatruant in Lygon with better customer service and split bill.
If you want to wait 25 minutes to get your order get ripped off?
IL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!

The pasta was ok. The problem is the service. Rushed in and rushed out. I’ve never been so rushed in my life. I was still drinking my drink when the waiter came and took the glasses and said he needs the table. I understand that your busy but keeping a customer on the table for 5 extra minutes while they finish the drink they have paid for is the appropriate thing to do. Feeling rushed out made us not want to return. We found it very rude.

This place is so weird. Guy out the front forces you in, that should have been the first red flag. The pasta was terrible and the sauce was watery and not at all creamy. The garlic bread was just toast lmao. Our vegetable dish was just pasta and frozen peas. Could have dealt with it if it hadn’t cost an arm and a leg. The tension between staff was uncomfortable. Wrong drink. Had to ask for cutlery. The tipping thing is just flipping awkward. I’m just so confused after this experience.

Quite possibly the best Italian restaurant in Melbourne. The food, especially the seafood, was super fresh and cooked to perfection. The seafood marinara was delicious in a very generous portion. The tiramisu and espresso were the bee’s knees. The ambience just took me back to Italy. The service from Luciano was warm and friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely go back

Charging extra on public holiday is common，but they need to clearly inform customers of their intent. I also haven't seen the surcharge sign on the front . We asked for water 5 times, they finally gave us a water bottle but no glasses! Then we kept asking for glasses. Poor customer service. Most important ,food is quite average.not worth the time and money. Will Never come to this restaurant again .
PS： we went to another restaurant the same street the same day, no surcharge,but better food,better service,better experience! should read google reviews carefully（not just see the rating）

I've been going to La Spaghettata Restaurant for over 30 years and I'm not exaggerating one bit.
My mother too me there when I was 10 years old and I went back there at the young at heart age of 42.
It's just as I remember and I think the fit-out hasn't even changed (as in I'm sure they've done repairs, but they've kept the classic look).
The food is incredible, pricing is very fair and they have such a great vibe and incredible rich flavour.
When I'm wealthier and more successful as an influencer (hopefully soon lol), I want to do a special trip to Melbourne just to visit these guys and savour
