This berry sized, sour citrus fruit has a similar flavor to marmalade when sweetened by the glac method. Serve with cheeses, in sauces for fish or try them pured as a jam alternative. This stone fruit, only the size of a lychee has a the thin layer of flesh which we glac in house. Savoury: A suace for red meat or in a chutney.

We visited with grandparents from Russia. It has been the first time to try some of the native Australian meats. The food was sensational!!! The waiter was friendly and informative, however being the only front of the house staff it was difficult for him to keep up with the service.

Astonishingly good place, with some incredible tasty food. The only shame is that it closes tomorrow; so this review is a little pointless, since you'll never be able to try it.

2 star review is for the service. I had dined there a few times and had been wanting to take my partner there. I purchased a voucher from Living Social for their 5 course Discovery Menu. Upon arrival, we were referred to as the 'Living Social Table' and were seated at a table right against the front door and a wall. The table and chairs were on a slope. The table was wobbling and I had to constant adjusting my chair to stop it from sliding.
After expressing my dissatisfaction to the Manager we were moved to a different table. However, it has ruined the fine dining experience.
In all fairness

My partner and I went there on a Friday night and we had a lovely time. Our waiter was attentive and he explained every nuance of what we were eating, food came out in a timely manner and was cooked perfectly, enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine and the complimentary entree and palette cleanser was a nice touch.
We found it to be nice and quiet which was perfect for a date night - can't wait to go back again.

Tried the degustation and experienced mixed results. I enjoyed he candied native fruits and the cheese platter. The kangaroo was well cooked but was missing direction, as it was just a meaty taste. The crocodile dishes could have had a stronger flavour, and the uncooked (citrus cured) entree version didn't sit well with any of our group (one ended up being sick).

I do appreciate the attempt to promote native Australian food, but it's a bit hit or miss with the execution here. Some of the elements of the tasting platter were interesting, but many were rather bland, and most could be prepared at home (since there's a lot of cured meats, nothing very elaborate at all--it's not really cuisine, more an assemblage of raw/ lightly prepared ingredients).
Service is very slow as stated, and if you go in the height of the summer, expect to boil as we did, because there's no A/C in what is also a rather dingy, gloomy and cramped interior.
We eschewed wine (way too

My favourite restaurant in Brisbane - a truly unique and high-quality dining experience of true Australian food. Highly recommend for a special occasion or if you have guests from overseas. Prices are what you would expect for a high-end restaurant but absolutely worth it, matched with excellent service. Fantastic selection of Australian wines and beers to match the menu. Highlight is the Native Platter, which is brilliant.

I tried out Tukka's 5 course meal on a living social deal. The portions were small, but the fare was amazing. I chose the accompanying wines for $40. The wines were great and complimented the meal quite well. After 5 glasses of wine plus a glass champers, the small portions weren't such a worry! It was a lovely dining experience.

I haven't been to Tukka for over a year and I've got to say it was still excellent. The whole team did a wonderful job and it's every bit as good as I remembered! The menu is based around the same concept, but they have continued to evolve the cuisine and the flavours were fresh, creative and most importantly, delicious! We booked for a work function and we will definitely return. We were afforded the full menu to choose from and the service team took the time to take the new comers to Tukka through the different flavours, berries, herbs and meats on offer. Thanks so much Tukka and we look forward

We had a work outing at Tukka and we had a brilliant evening, the staff were attentive, the food was great and we really enjoyed trying new foods native to Australia. I really liked that they cure some of their own meats and grow a lot of their ingredients so the food is super fresh. A lot of thought had gone into the menu and advice on drinks to compliment the food. I disagree that the portion sizes were small, we left feeling comfortably full and not like we had massively over indulged like many restaurant portions leave you feeling. I would very much recommend the chocolate doughnuts for desert
