Services
An iconic Sydney landmark since 1885, The Edinburgh Castle is a timeless testament to the spirit of the city's traditional pubs and historic hotels. Preserved by the laughter and spirit of tales past, the hotel's walls were once refuge to some of the country's most famed creatives. A storied pub known as Henry Lawson's chosen writing nook, quenching thirst and bearing witness to some of his greatest poems and short stories.
A nod to our Australian roots, we offer top quality pub meals and a casual dining experience. A fusion of modern twists and hearty favourites, from our famous chicken schnitzel to our juicy grain-fed rump steak. The Edinburgh Castle is a standout CBD lunch and dinner destination. We take your allergy and dietary requirements very seriously.
From craft beers full of character to traditional local ales, we've got an impressive range of cold and frosty beverages behind the bar. Perhaps you'd prefer a glass or bottle of fine wine to accompany your meal? Our wine list features a range of Australian and international varietals. Our 'From the cellar' collection are by the bottle only - perfect for celebrating birthdays, promotions or simply treating yourself and a few friends!

Old school charm. Friendly staff. Good food. A pub that knows it's a pub and not a mini casino.

I got the chicken burger and it had an off smell when I got it but was also almost over cooked so decided to eat it. Felt like I was going to get food poisoning but luckily I didn't.. the whole experience was just a bit sketchy though! For $24 I just felt like I wasn't getting value for money and, yea I had concerns over the quality of cooking.
Review from an impartial diner!

Great authentic english pub with good food and a variety of meals. Prices are reasonable and portions are fair. Range of salads and western food. Staff are nice and friendly. Close walk to Hyde park and near sydney city offices perfect for team lunch or drinks afterwork. Online order option via an app made it alot easier and quicker.

Friendly service. Nicely chilled IPA on tap. Chicken burger was outstanding. Everything very fresh and most importantly, cooked to order. Highly recommended.

One of the last old-school style pubs in the CBD. Been coming here for 15 years and it always has a welcoming feel. The menu has steadily improved over the years with a mix of classic Aussie pub meals like burgers and schnitzel as well as more modern options. Tap beers are cold and fresh making this a great spot for a weekday lunch or to catch up for drinks after work. Only 2 minutes from Town Hall station.

We went here for a stop in between escape rooms during lunch on a Saturday. The atmosphere was plesant, matching the customer service. It seemed to be in a nice centralised location and there was plenty of seating at the time

An old renovated pub near Town Hall. Wide open floor w/ variety of chairs. Large cinema size screen for sports. Tab machine. Toilets w/ smelly urinal & Pokies down stairs. Happy Hour 4-6 pm $5. Bottle shop at bar. Decent food menu.

Went here after reading all the lovely reviews, however what I expected vs what I got were complete opposites, the food, it was bad, tasteless, way too much salt and dry. Ordered the fish which was pathetic.
Make it worse a bowl of fries cost $10, the fries that I got looked more like I paid $3 for it as it was so tiny. I'm sure this place has it's good and bad days, as for me, sadly I went on a bad day and got the worst. Look forward to better experience next time!
