Pros:
- fantastic location (near the harbour, 24/7 convenience store out the front etc)
- the building’s exterior is so beautiful and well maintained
- staff are very welcoming
- goodies provided!
Cons:
- the interior (awkward room positioning, small bathroom, old furniture and very dusty - not the best for someone with dustmite allergy)
- outdated entertainment system/electronics

A historical, character filled boutique hotel in the heart of The Rocks & in walking distance to some of the CBD’s great restaurants, shopping & beautiful Circular Quay. It was my husband’s birthday so we were kindly given a room upgrade & a bottle of wine was brought up to our room care of the manager. We will be coming back.

This is not a five star hotel.
The good:
- Room upgrade (yay!).
- Great location.
- Opera House views from bed.
- Cosy atmosphere and vibe.
- The outdoor terrace and lobby library.
The average:
- Cheap repair jobs in the room, chipped paint walls, bad drywall repairs, bad tile repairs in the bathroom (see photos).
- Air conditioner smelt really musty and damp - we couldn't use it.
- The shower head that was hilariously as low as my face (see photo).
- The basin shelf so low you couldn't get your head over the sink 😂.
- The music system with an original iPhone / iPod connector.

Love the Brand, the location, the boutique hotel style. Unfortunately very disappointed buy the quality of the room, especially the bathroom... We wanted to stay here for a long time but I don't know if we will be back.
Suggestion: could you remove the plastic bag for the slippers and the mini amenities in the bathroom? Appelles do big bottles that you can refill.
No movies on TV.
Location is perfect!

A beautiful old building in a great location. First of all, this is not a five star hotel. It doesn't have any of the amenities you'd expect. Instant coffee, and no spoons or stirrers to make it with. The room was dusty and the tiles in the bathroom chipped. The grout needs to be replaced. Front reception and bar is combined (strange), and understaffed during happy hour, where many customers were not happy. The shelf over the sink makes it impossible to wash your face or brush teeth. Our room overlooked the outdoor bar and the music was so loud during the day and into the evening. You could write

We were ‘guests of the day’ so had a free room upgrade and a small bottle of wine. Rooms are lovely but no bath in ours. Concierge were helpful and attentive. We had literally been in the room 5 minutes and had… a call to make sure everything was OK. Great location to explore the historic Rocks area and harbour as it is a short walk to the ferries.

I can't say enough about this little hotel. I've stayed there ore times than I can remember. My usual travel schedule always had me landing in Sydney early in the morning, totally trashed from a long multi-hop flight from Northern Virginia area. The folks there always made sure I was able to check in early and hit the rack. The rooms were always spotless and comfortable.

The most important part for me was always being able to get my particular room (I always tried to stay in the same room, if available). This is a service normally reserved for AMEX Black Card holders in major hotels

From the moment the large front doors open we knew that we made the right choice in hotels. The rustic decor made you feel right at home. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful!!! We needed suggestions on restaurants and convenient stores, etc. The staff was spot on with their suggestions. Moss (at the front desk) was very friendly and resourceful, what a delight to talk to. He knows the hospitality business and makes you feel like your at home. The rooms are updated in a mid century vibe and they have thought of every detail. Lots of plug-ins to recharge all of our devices. The location

Can’t recommend this hotel high enough. So different to the sanitised and sycophantic hotel towers. We were lucky to get an upgrade to a Studio Suite which was lovely. Soak in the history oh and definitely have the breakfast, it was great. Thank you.

First disclaimer. We did not stay at this hotel. We did, however, visit several times for a pre dinner cocktail. The bartender was very nice. She was polite and friendly.
On a second visit we sat on the chairs rather than at the bar. The place sells perfumed soaps and the smell was quite overwhelming. While there we asked about the breakfast and were told that breakfast could be had by people who were not staying at the hotel. So the next morning we made a quick stop. The cooked breakfast was offered at $17au. But the service was so slow we decided for the rather sparse continental. Fruit, toast

This was a really nice hotel. It is a delightful boutique hotel located in the Rocks area of Sydney. I got in SUPER early for check-in after a 24 hour flight. I was really happy that they were able to check me in so early so I could grab a quick shower before I had a day full of meetings. I was in one of the smallest rooms in the hotel but it wasn't bad. It was pretty quiet, even though the Vivid Sydney festival was going on while I was there (you could even see one of the exhibits from my hotel room). The toiletries in the bathroom were really nice. I took them all home with me. The bed was

If small rooms with no character are what you like, then this place is for you!

Pros: Rooms are clean, and for most part, Staff is friendly. Good location.

Cons: Rooms are small. Bathrooms are TINY. The sink int he bathroom is so small, it's hard to brush your teeth and not get toothpaste on floor.

There's no concierge in hotel, and front desk staff knowledge is very hit or miss.

When you ask for long blacks at bar, they usually will send you to another restaurant, as they don't seem to want to make the drink.

Wifi is not free unless you sign up for some program. Then

I actually came here thinking that it was a pub (which is one of the confusing things about Australia - a hotel can either be a bar, or a place of accomodation - though in many cases they are both). Anyway, I wandered inside to discover that it wasn't actually a pub but the lobby of a really nice four star hotel. While I could have gone on my way, I did quite like the lobby, so I wandered around to where the bar was and grabbed a pot of tea. The staff were really friendly, despite the fact that all I was ordering was a pot of tea. Okay, while not strictly a pub, it is still quite a nice place

Pretty little hotel nicely situated on a relatively quiet street (if that's possible in a large city) tucked around behind the main drag through The Rocks. Totally surrounded by loads of [particularly touristy] shops, pub/bars and dining options, down quaint little alleys and sandstone cobbled lane ways. The building has been restored and maintained, although the rooms themselves are not particularly indicative of the period, and more suited to the modern traveler. We had a room at the back with a view across to the Opera House. That is, until a massive cruise liner docked (see photo). Really

This is nice hotel in a terrific location with a friendly staff. However, we experienced quirky stumbles that should not have happened.

We booked two rooms, as we were traveling with friends. So both rooms were under our name. At check in for some reason the two rooms were re-registered in our friends' name meaning that the staff could not find us when we wanted to charge a bar tab to the room or when our room keys inexplicably stopped working.

On our second day we returned to the room at 3pm to discover it had not been cleaned. The housekeeping staff explained that because we had not
