Best Western Atlantis Hotel

Just giving an honest review.
We usually stay at Brady Hotels, but we wanted to try something different. So my husband and I stayed at Atlantis for the whole weekend, in the “Grandview” room.
I’ll start with the things that were ‘subpar’— Check in was easy, car parking was easy, and staff was helpful.
However the negatives far outweighed the good and Atlantis in my opinion is not 4 star quality. I’m really not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. I’d say it’s more of a 2.5 star.

We enjoyed our stay, breakfast is nice and simple but yummy. The rooms are clean. But the mattress was feeling a bit wonky… and we were staying for 4 nights and we had tea on the first night… and the cups never were washed. I found it a bit strange. The towels and bins were changed twice tho.

Stayed here for 10 days. Staff very welcoming and prices are competitive. Had a problem with the AC and was moved to another room almost immediately with no hesitation. Supermarket just across the road and plenty of options close by to grab something to eat. No laundry available, however facilities are close by and within walking distance. Plenty of carparking available within the hotel at competitive rates but it may be difficult to park out the front while checking in. Recommend to stay here and will probably be back at some point.

4-star hotel they say, and self awarded no doubt.. 1-bar of wifi that cuts out constantly - they give you a little bar of hand soap for your body wash - 1-ply toilet paper - No towel racks - No shower door to keep the water from going everywhere - No shower pressure - Room phone wasn't even plugged in - and the carpet is so dirty it turns your feet black. When I asked about the wifi strength I got this word for word from a staff member "well, it's just free wifi and no one else has complained" and the owner made a similar comment (I had a friend staying in another room and she had the same issue

Worst family room I have ever stayed in. The location is convenient but other than that, I would never stay here again. The room looked nothing like the photos pictured for the family room OR the floor plan pictures on the website. We walked into a pokey room and had a small room off the hallway and then another small room with 2 single beds right next door in a seperate room. Then there was bathroom smaller than a powder room off the end of the hallway. There was absolutely no area for my partner and the two kids to sit together communally and no chairs at all. Original Room that we checked into, the Air Conditioning was not working. After a conversation with reception and having the AC looked at, it was deemed to be not working. Asked for a room change and the staff could not be more Accommodating. Original stay was for three (3) days, but requested an extra night. Again, the staff could not be more Accommodating. Aside from the carpark and its size, I was thoroughly pleased with the service and pricing from the Atlantis. Convenient location across from Southern Cross made City Access a breeze. Would gladly stay there again and would recommend to anyone

Worst bed ever!! Nice pool & handy location. Shower had mould & dripped constantly. Only 3 pillows & no top sheet. TV remote & door cards didn't work twice. No docklands view as booked. Not sure why this is rated as 4 star?

Easy booking though found a deal on one of the popular accommodation search and book sites (not plugging the site).
On arrival I was able to intercom at the entrance of their multi-story car park, to have reception direct me through. A good rate too at $20, which covered me till 4pm the following day (well after our 10am checkout).
The checkin experience was awesome a young and enthusiastic chap (Oli ??) was able to handle my checkin and by request, was able to get us on the highest floor, with a city view.

On arrival safe was closed. I advised reception and was told it would be taken care of. Later in the evening I called again and was called rude because I complained about the safe. I also asked about the pay per view channels and why we haven’t got them. The acting manager said she doesn’t know anything about pay per view but will have someone look at the safe tomorrow.

CONS :
Lights are very dull in bathroom
Mattresses is awful,too soft,no support,you will get back pain.
Can’t open windows = no fresh air
Dirty windows = can’t see outside
Room feels dark
