Built in 1914 and opened in 1915, The Mercantile was established to replace the old Mercantile Rowing Club Hotel. It has since become an iconic pub in The Rocks welcoming guests all year round for drinks, great hearty meals and true Irish hospitality. The Mercantile Hotel is a welcoming destination to catch up with friends, share a meal and stay for a night of live music and dancing.

Built in 1914 and opened in 1915, The Mercantile was established to replace the old Mercantile Rowing Club Hotel. The rowing club's lease on their old site down by the water's edge expired in 1911 and so they moved their club to Mosman, becoming the Mosman Rowing Club that we know today.
