At Cornerstone, we believe that health is more than exercise or nutrition. It encompasses a broad spectrum which is hard to define. We get it, you've been around a while. You've probably tried many different things to improve your health, lose weight, have better relationships and ultimately be happy.

Some of them work, some of them don't. Cornerstone is about the relationships that are created between people that want to kick ass at life no matter their age. We're about people who want more out of life than to just "getting through the day". We want to be the best hour of your day, to be inspired, strong and to comfortable.

We view the world a little differently. In sport, athletes receive personalised training and information to optimise performance. We try to do the same thing for our members so they can be at their best for their sport, their family, their job or their life. We treat athletes like humans, and humans like athletes, because without health, there is no performance, and we should all be striving to achieve our potential.
Many people walk into our facility and ask what we do? You have probably been misled as to what health and fitness looks like. Fitness is free. We are a school of movement and health which will enhance your performance for Sport and/or Life. S&C is the deliverance of structured program using sports SCIENCE.
Delivering elite S&C services to the youth and athletes of regional Australia, no matter their level. Our missions is to help athletes across regional areas achieve their potential, stay in love with the game for longer and do it at an affordable price. Regardless of whether you're 8yrs old or an elite athlete, we get to know and understand all of our clients so we can build a picture of you and how we can help.
We don't believe you can look at each person and treat them the same. Asking our members to turn up every day and kill themselves in the gym without consideration of other parts of their lives is not best practice. We focus on all aspects of Movement, Nutrition and Mindset. Our goal is to help you develop into a strong, mobile and diversely capable human, as well as revitalise your love and appreciation of your own health, fitness and life.

Mike and his team are absolutely amazing at what they do and they care so much about you and your success.
Have also been seeing Chris regularly for physiotherapy.
I love his approach to actually get me stronger and more injury resistant than I was before getting hurt.

I stumbled across Cornerstone when I moved back to Newcastle almost a year ago. I have trained at a number of gyms and was looking for somewhere that was able to tailor training for individuals, focussed on people as whole person - not just their athletic performance and had a community feel. Cornerstone has exceeded all my expectations, the coaches are all extremely knowledgeable, they have an interest in and know everyone who walks in the door and the community is absolutely second to none!

Could not recommend a place any higher. Classes have a strong sense of community and team, while still feeling like you're getting individual attention , especially if you have injuries or need a particular focus. The programming demonstrates great experience and knowledge and includes focus on mobility and building joint resilience, not just strength. The coaches are all super qualified & competent, will explain not just the what but the how and why (and occasionally who) of the exercises, and are supportive and overall just good people.

The team at Cornerstone Strength & Conditioning are some of the best in the business, from my initial consult and assessment with Mike early this year to now, the service and professionalism has been second to none. I had been looking for a gym that can tailor sessions and training to assist athletes in achieving their goals, and they are just that. Whether you are a beginner to professional athlete, this is the place for you. No egos or know it alls, just individuals all working towards their own goals 👍🏼

Could not recommend Cornerstone more. Really enjoyed my time here and am really impressed with the knowledge of all coaches. The focus on moving well and attention to specific details of each movement is top notch. Though there is a program to follow, every movement can be scaled to suit all needs. Presonally I've found progress on all the major lifts (squats, deadlift and bench press) and feel like overall I am moving better and are engaging the correct muscles when moving. In addition to this the welcoming and friendly nature of the gym make it less intimidating. I look forward to training each

Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Cornerstone is the most welcoming and genuinely supportive gym I have ever been to.
Cornerstone provides an essential mix of challenging yet balanced training, personable and cheeky coaches, and a family feel from its members. This family run business GENUINELY cares about its people. Mike, Sam and the team take a realistic and down-to-earth view of wellbeing, which is reflected in the programming and general atmosphere of the gym.

Cornerstone is so much more than just a gym. I have been coming since Mike and Sam first started and I still get something out of every session. The programming is second to none with the ability to scale each workout to the level of the individual. The coaches are all legends and the crew always ensure we have as much fun as you can while testing out your physical limits. If you want to change your life get involved.

I started training at Cornerstone after having should surgery and wanting to get back into Triathlon. I have been training now for 2 months on a program that fits in perfectly with my life. We all have other commitments but Sam and Mike were able to work with me to get a flexible program so that it fits into the week when it can. After 2 months I have dropped 7kg, improved Sprint Distance Triathlon time by 14 minutes, completed my 1st Olympic distance Triathlon and improved strength in all areas.

To anyone that is thinking about making a change in their life regarding their personal health and fitness, I would highly recommend Cornerstone.
We were introduced to Cornerstone through the hockey club that our family is a part of, from there my children started regularly attending sessions to help them with their chosen sports. I decided to do an 8-week program and it has had a huge positive impact on my life.
Strength, flexibility, nutrition, weight, endurance and self-belief are all areas that Cornerstone has helped me to improve, but for me personally, the most important part of Cornerstone

Before I joined Cornerstone I felt like I had lost control of my body. I had severe back pain from a herniated disc and my nutrition and mental health was extremely poor.
I have now been training at Cornerstone for 8 months and the difference is amazing. I’m starting to understand my body more and I’m gaining confidence in moving again. The training, advice and support is second to none and is so much more than just lifting weights.
