Thoroughly enjoyed our steak fillet mignon even though I believe Mum got my medium rare and I her medium and she refused to swap haha. The sides were perfect and the jus... delicious, best I've ever tasted. I wanted to lick my plate clean! The only recommendation I could make would be a slice of sour dough on the side to soak up the lovely jus when finishing the meal. Friendly, efficient staff even though it was very busy. Comfortable seats and decor.

Food was delicious, big meals, come out fast. Service is a let down, absolutely no table service at all, no water delivery to table, took own Waiter tray of drinks outside. Waiter doesn't food quality check (lucky wasn't needed this time) and wasn't very friendly when arriving. Well done to the chefs on the great menu.

Perhaps the most disappointing meal I've had in a very long time, which is quite a shame as this place used to be great. My partner and I would frequent the restaurant whenever we visited Daylesford, however this time our experience was immensely underwhelming.
The fish and chips was akin to a frozen meal, and the porterhouse was overdone and tough.
More than anything the service was abysmal; the woman with the long black hair who seemed to be a manager clearly didn't want to be there and was quite aloof to most of the patrons, we felt uncomfortable as soon as we entered as she immediately gave

Fantastic place. Beautifully decorated, multiple sections including a more formal restaurant, a bar area, a small covered outside high table, but caters to all ages as we saw young and old eating in. The staff are very lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. Food-wise, come hungry. The portions are massive and I swear I got half a chicken with my panko crumbed chicken schnitzel. Partner had fish and chips and was better than an average pub fish and chips. Chips themselves were 'fuxking perfect' to quote. Being able to bring our dogs down for dinner, the staff are so friendly and the food is amazing!!

Nice pub meals but a little average on the flavour. My chicken pot pie needed salt and a lot more flavouring! My partners fish and chips was very "fishy". It was a busy day and we had to keep flagging staff down to order, and we asked for the bill twice. I've been previously and had a very nice experience with the food (omg the pan cookie was amazing, please bring that back!), but maybe the chef has changed since then, and so as I mentioned the meals were average in flavour.

I have no idea what happened to our booking.
I booked this restaurant for dinner on Boxing Day Monday.
As we were getting ready for our dinner, I intuitively rang to confirm the time. The lady who answered couldn't find our booking!! Then she looked at my profile as we are regulars whenever we are in Daylesford - sure enough she found a note that a booking should have been made that night but wasn't - she then confirmed that they were full and nothing was available.
No apologies but advised that someone would phone me - nobody ever did! We ended up having takeaway pizza as all other restaurants

5 Stars! Incredible, Delicious , Dog Friendly!
An absolute gem of Daylesford. The food, decor and staff were incredible. There is not a thing I would change about this incredible hotel. To top it off they are dog friendly and we were able to enjoy a wonderful evening with our puppy. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Thank you and we will be back!

Beautiful deco and courtyard, friendly service staff but food was very disappointing, even though I went because of reviews. All 4 mains we ordered was overcooked or too dry. Maybe they were too busy, but I'm not sure if I'll be willing to try this restaurant again outside of the peak holiday season.

I want to love this place as it’s known as “the pub” in Daylesford, but on two visits, 1 out of the 2 meat dishes have been overcooked. First was braised short rib - great sauce and accompaniments, but very dry. Second was a $42 porterhouse - ordered rare, got medium. Service has been impeccable and ambience is great though. The pork belly is also delicious and well cooked. Overall just needs a bit more care and QC for some dishes
