The New Unity Hall Hotel was established on this site in 1875 when the license was moved from the first Unity Hall Hotel in East Balmain. The Unity has been at the heart of Balmain ever since. It was also here that the Australian Labor Party was formed. The Workers Bar is upstairs at the Unity and is open every Saturday night from 7pm until 3am.

It's a part of Balmain History, even though I'm liberal I hear that the labor party was originally formed meetings just above the premises....

Great pub , good food and friendly staff. If you are wanting to mingle with locals, watch the footy or the races it's definitely the place to go.

Was a great place to see live music, now no raised stage, sports on tv behind the band, no sound system, bar staff could care less... singo screwed it and now its got worse under new so called local owners

Caught the end of the live band and they were really good!Once they finished up, the dj was also really good with a great mix of old school music which had us up dancing.

We wanted to watch the Ascot Races in the UK ...rang ahead yep all good but because it was a bit quiet they kick us out ! While I get that during the current situation we were spending money ...cash !!
