Services
Vaccinations are essential to preventing the spread of disease through the pet population. The diseases we vaccinate against can be life threatening. In order to give your pet the best defence we recommend keeping them up to date with vaccinations. We recommend all puppies and kittens receive their initial course of vaccinations followed by annual vaccinations throughout their lifetime.
Desexing is the process of removing an animals ability to reproduce. In male pets we castrate (remove their testicles), and in females we spey (perform an ovariohysterectomy). Desexing is routinely performed at approximately 6 months of age. Desexing earlier than 6 months of age is also possible if required and remember, an animal is never "too old" to be desexed.
At Bacchus Marsh Veterinary Centre we run a kitten adoption program with our local councils. We are working hard to find homes for as many rescued kittens and cats as we can. We have kittens and cats available at most times of year. If you or a friend are looking for a new furry family member, please consider one of our adoption kitties.
Puppies are in the crucial socialisation stage from 6-16 weeks of age. This is the most important time in a puppy's life to learn appropriate behaviour and form a bond with their family. At Puppy Pre-school we teach basic manners such as sit, drop, stay and come as well as important handling and care discussions.
Many of the clients we were seeing at our Bacchus Marsh Centre were traveling from Melton and so it seemed logical to provide them with a local service. While the external appearance of the building hasn't changed much over the years, there have been major changes internally with improvements especially in theatre equipment & patient monitoring.
