All Anchor Down apartments are fully self contained so they include everything you need to get the most out of your Gold Coast stay. Our one and two bedroom apartments are air-conditioned in the main living area with fans throughout the apartment, and feature full kitchen facilities, washing machines and dryers.

We totally enjoyed our stay at "Anchor Down". Very conveniently located to the centre of Surfers Paradise, and only a short stroll to the beach. Our apartment on the top floor ( unit 23), north facing and overlooking the pool, was in very good condition, it had everything we needed. The bedrooms are spacious, private and in a quiet location.

Stayed here for 2 nights and honestly the place is pretty good considering we only paid $100 per night. We got a 2 bedroom unit within a 10 minute walk to Cavell Av. What more could you want for a gold coast holiday? The complex is dated and seemed to be circa 1970 and the original owners must of been French because there was alot of old French signage especially around the pool area.
Pool was great, Spa worked ok, but was showing its age as the bubbles weren't very powerful but it was heated. (Oh yeh there is no button to make it go faster, so don't bother looking and the big red button next

We have been hear and stayed in the top 2 bedroom apartments quiet a few times everytime we come here we get a great deal. It's close to everything the pool is nice the apartments are nice and spacious. It's always clean and to a good standard. I have had no problem hear on my stays and I will always come back our family loves this place. Despite some of the bad reviews I have never had any problems thankfully.
The apartments are aircondioned and have all the cooking utility that you need there is a beautiful bbq area by the pool very clean and fairly prices.

After needing to cancel our trip due to a hospital trip for my 7 year old we asked for a review on there cancellation policy through Agoda. Agoda where happy to refund but needed to check with the owners. The owners of the apartments needed a medical certificate to provide a refund for us.
We had provided this for them and still no refund. Instead a special offer was offered. Unfortunately my daughter has a severe heart condition and is unable to travel for the foreseeable future which is also stated in the certificate. I would have thought that after providing what they needed some consideration

They tried to steal my bond one year ago. I had to make an opposition on my master card to get refund. Never trust them if it's not right on a paper. They will tell you extra key are free but they will charge you, same for cleaning.
If you complain about your room because there is bedbugs they will tell you to leave the room to treat it, won't allow you to go inside because the product is dangerous, but they won't give you an other room. They will just drop the contract and tell you to leave.
In this place there is only Indian people who accept to live at 5 or 6 in a place made for 3.

Its tired, run down, stinks and not particularly clean... best bit was we found days old rotting food still in a pan in the cupboard in the kitchen. The basement stairwell to the apartments has obviously flooded at somepoint as it stinks too.
Oh and we have had music blaring all night from one of our lovely neighbours!
Would never stay again or recommend it!!! Certainly doesnt look like the pictures when booking online.... buyer beware!!

Cockroaches crawling around kitchen and lounge last guests butter and ice creams left in the fridge /freezer.Glass door to outside had streak marks all over it. Last guest hair tie around the shower tap. No local TV stations only foxtel. Bedroom wardrobe mirror dirty body grease as if someone has put their face/ body up to it. Coffee cup and bowl stains on coffee table in lounge. Dust all over foxtel box. Run down apartment and very bad cleaners. During covid I definitely would have expected better. Reported all to management and she said would email owner with report but shouldn't it be their

Very dirty room. The address on Airbnb was the wrong one. 10 minutes away to the right address. Everything dirty. Won’t recommend anymore. Rubbish in the drawer. The cup broken. The fans in the room broken. The oven baking tray is dirty.the toaster and sofa also very dirty. The bathroom’s ceiling also dirty. It’s really not worth to spend on it.

Pleased to see that after reading other review about the room cleanness, the manager has addressed the problem and has installed a better checking system to maintain a higher standard. The location is just perfect with a short 700 metre walk to the beach and cavil ave.For location and customer service I would rate this place 5 star. The rooms are spacious and perfect for a family on a budget. Self contained kitchen will also help with the family holiday. Great BBQ and pool area with a heated spa.

This hotel is dirty, smells disgusting and is not worth the stress of dealing with.
I had booked 2 nights here through Wotif and had no contact from them whatsoever apart from taking money out of my account, they could barely speak English and did not attempt to communicate anything to us. I ended up receiving a full refund for the 2 nights including the $200 security deposit.
I wouldn't even waste your time. One of the live in tenants greeted us in the car park and let us know that they have had 'nothing but issues' since the new owner/operators had taken over.
