Services
At the Hotel Spencer, we've aimed to stay true to our 100 years of rich history, as one of Melbourne's iconic pubs. We've embraced the atmosphere a 1920's watering hole once brought to its' local working class population. Good old fashioned hospitality is what we're all about. The Hotel Spencer is a relaxed bar and bistro, where anyone can feel at home and eat delicious, homestyle food.
Look no further! We are only a few minutes away from the Southern Cross train station and have ample and free parking evenings and week ends. The venue and event spaces can be set up to easily handle groups from ranging from 20 to 150 guests and we are able to tailor your function to specific dietary requirements and budget limits.
We came here for drinks after work during the Friday afternoon Happy Hour. Awesome range of rotating craft beer! Just the best customer service from this establishment. A huge congrats to them for their fantastic management of the staff and the food was amazing. Went here for my birthday dinner. Loved the cosy atmosphere & staff had amazing service!

One word!! Awful. We were in room 1 and it wasn't nice at all, especially for £75.00 which didn't include breakfast. I will never go back

Room basic but adequate, the towels and bedding smelt fresh and clean. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. The staff there are very friendly and personable.

Could do with some updating but for the price you can't go wrong. They was going to put us upstairs bit as soon as he was my stick he moved us to the ground floor. The breakfast was good and the young man did my eggs just the way I like. We will be going back.

They say never judge a book by its cover, this bed & breakfast is a classic example. The outside looks pleasant and quaint however the interior is dark and dated. Some major renovations are needed.
I can only comment on the room used, the room layout was ok but didn't make sense to us, sockets around the room but none near the tea and coffee making facilities. We had to place a towel behind the bed to stop it squeaking and running against the wall as we sat on it.
The breakfast room in the basement was in need of a good clean also, small bits of paper and cereal littered the floor around the

Sorry to say not a great place. Stated on_suite but not the case. Shared shower that is in the attic and almost impossible to have a decent shower. The room has secondary glazing....Good job as there is no actual pane of glass in the window. Wardrobe unsafe and brown stain on shelf. Drawer bottom falling out. Boil kettle on floor. Crack from ceiling to door and grease stains by the bed. Really needs a deep clean and decorating.

It's a cheap and cheerful hotel. Couldn't fault staff on their friendliness. I stayed in Room 10 on the top floor. The bed definitely needs a mattress replacement but I was able to sleep on it. The shower halfway down the stairs can be a little hazardous, watch your head! It's a shame I was not able to enjoy breakfast as it is only served from 8am. I'd happily stay here again if I'm working in the area.

The complaints for this hotel are very true, the only plus side is the staff were friendly.
We had stains on the bed sheets and the sheets were full of hair, but the cleaner assured us it came from the launderettes and she will make a complaint.
The carpet was disgusting and full of dirt, it is clear it hasn't been hoovered in a long time. The sink was in the room, along with a kettle on the floor. The shower facility is really small in space and the hot and cold nossle wasn't working properly. There wasn't a fridge or even a place to hang the coats, we stayed for one night only. The walls are
