The menus at Carrington Place reflect the unique style developed by Scott in his illustrious 30 year international career. The finest in local produce is lovingly prepared and then cooked in the special stone hearth oven before being served to guests with the same individual care and attention to detail.

Accommodation Report

Carrington Place offers guests high-quality rooms, most with shared bathrooms, in a traditional guest house style format. All rooms have high quality furnishings and superior quality bed linen. Each room also includes digital free to air television. The shared bathroom facilities are conveniently located close to all rooms and a guest kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities is also available on the 1st floor.

A great old pub that has had a tasteful renovation. They have beautiful outdoor eating area. The food was very good and the service was great. The menu was a bit limited but we were able to easily select a meal. It is convieniently located close to the city with easy parking close to the pub.Thank you guys for a great meal.

We stayed here for three days during new year. Lovely staff, friendly environment. It has only one shared bathroom ( seperate for Men & women) for all the rooms which is not so cleaned and one common pantry area. No daily cleaning service in the room and floor carpets are really old. Recommended for backpackers and short stay only.

We just had another fantastic meal here last nite. It’s the best food in Newcastle. I had an amazing pork belly - so tender and tasty. My wife loved her lamb. And our friend tore into a perfect wood fired prosciutto pizza. All topped off with efficient n friendly service. Five stars the whole way. Thank you!!!

We held our staff Christmas dinner here. This place was incredibly unassuming, the food was sensational - seriously among the finest Ive even eaten, the venue really lovely and the staff were incredibly attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

Good rooms, friendly staff. Food portion was abit small for me but decent.
Easy to hear through the walls and doors if ya want a good sleep but didn't bother me too much.
They let me keep my car parked here while I had some work to do after I checked out. I would return for sure.

A big shout out for a terrific meal and service for Carrington Place on Melbourne Cup Day. Chef Scott Webster and his team served up fabulous food that surpassed the modest price charged and we could even see the races and hear them in a very convivial atmosphere. Well done! We will be back soon.

Popped in here for lunch on Saturday. Beef cheek was marvelous and beers were a good price, Boats Light. The staff were oh so friendly. Loved it.

Amazing food, friendly staff, and a great set up. Had a lovely mothers day lunch there. Greeted with champagne. The food was absolutely delicious especially the lamb and chocolate tart. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Great location for work functions. The restaurant is fine dining an excellent menu with well balanced wine list. The presentation and flavours of food 11/10. The bar food is upmarket and staff are of high standards and friendly. Highly recommend.
