Chris has been at Hampton Veterinary Hospital since 2008. He graduated from Melbourne University in 2004 before undertaking a 3 year stint in a mixed animal practice in country Victoria. Vaccination has revolutionised control of infectious disease in our pets. It is essential that all pets are adequately vaccinated to help protect the pet population as a whole. Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, intestinal worms and heartworms. Please see our heartworm page for more information. Worming is one of the first health care issues pet owners need to address as pups and kittens are the most susceptible. As their name suggests, intestinal worms are parasites that live inside your pet's intestines.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, heartworm and intestinal worms. Please see our intestinal worm page for more information. Heartworm, or Dirofilaria immitis, is a parasite that is spread by mosquitoes, so you pet does not even need to be in contact with other pets to become infected!
Fleas are most often seen during the warmer months but as we keep our homes nice and warm throughout winter, we see fleas all year round. Only a small part of the adult flea population actually lives on your pet. The fleas' eggs and larvae live in the environment and can survive for up to a year, so it is important to not only treat your animal directly for fleas but also decontaminate the environment as well.

Zero care factor! Not even a phone call from Chris after my dog was euthanased at South Paws. Not the kind of customer service one deserves after 10years of custom. DISGRACEFUL!
Furthermore in response to Chris: The clinic was fully aware Lucy was euthanized at South Paws. Unused medication was returned & documentation l requested from you to be submitted to her pet insurance had to be amended because the birth & deceased date were incorrect, so one may ask how you were unaware? After years of attending this clinic, l am appauled at the customer service. Absolutely DISGRACEFUL!

I have been attending here for almost 30 years. Dr. Danny is an outstanding surgeon who has operated on and saved my beloved dogs life three times. Most recently from a large liver tumour,
The staff worked as a supportive and professional team showing outstanding care, compassion and kindness.
I’m so grateful to the outstanding technical, scientific knowledge and skill of this surgery. Dr. Tanya has always been incredibly professional, thorough and caring for my dog too.
I can not recommend this practice highly enough. Thankyou so much Hampton vet vets, nurses and support team you have been

Thank you Hampton Vet for looking after Alma this week. We appreciate your quick response to seeing her and the honest advice you gave us when deciding on the best treatment. Dr Gabi was professional, caring and supportive of us as owners. Communication throughout Alma's overnight stay was excellent and put our minds at ease. All nurses we spoke to were helpful and understanding. Alma came home feeling better and we know she was looked after brilliantly whilst there. Thank you.

Best vet clinic in Melbourne, they saved my baby's life, Dr Daniel is a genius and Dr Robinson too! The staff are divine and they won't charge you an arm and a leg, they are not mercenaries, on the contrary they really care and look after their patients, I could not recommend them strongly enough, they are absolutely the best and nicest! If you take your babies there, tell them Maude the 10 year old sharpei told you they are amazing!
