The team at Black Rock Animal Hospital have offered the best in veterinary care for over 50 years, with happy patients in Black Rock, Sandringham, Cheltenham, Brighton, Beaumaris, Hampton, Highett, and Mentone. It has always been, and continues to be, in the ownership of the vets who work there. The clinic is on Balcombe Road near the Black Rock shops, next door to the service station.
We know some animals (and people!) can become anxious here, so we always take our time and examine them in a calm and comforting way to ease the stress on both you and your pet. Whatever the issue might be, we listen carefully to your concerns so we can understand all the reasons for your visit and move forward with the best care plan for your pet.
We can confirm your pet's diagnosis through all types of testing, which we offer in the comfort of our own clinic. This way we get to the bottom of the issue as quickly as possible, with minimal stress and expense. We can provide: blood and urine tests, cytology testing, digital x-ray, ultrasonography, dental care including x-ray, and more.
At Black Rock Animal Hospital, we provide complete health care, including worming, flea prevention, vaccinations, and any necessary ongoing prescriptions to keep them healthy and happy. We keep up-to-date on the latest changes in recommended vaccinations and disease-risk, so we can tailor a plan that will work for your pet for many years to come.

Our dog got a piece of bone lodged in her upper palate. Rushed down to the Black Rock Animal Hospital. Dr Juliet and her lovely team quickly fixed the issue, properly checked our pup and gave advice. And ridiculously didn’t charge, despite my protestations! Such a great customer experience! Thanks team.

We just moved into the area and needed to see a vet as my 17yo cat was losing weight rapidly. Juliette and her staff were amazing. She made sure that I knew all of the alternative treatments and tests available and then offered advice as to what she would do if the cat was hers. Unfortunately after a couple of weeks the treatment was not enough and we had to euthanize our treasured pet. Juliette and her staff were extremely compassionate and made the experience the best it could be under the circumstances. I have no hesitation in recommending Juliette and her team as an amazing vet!

Staff at the BR Animal Hospital Australia had to go through the worst time in my greyhound Jack’s life with me. On two occasions we had ‘Vet in the Car’ services cos Jack was too ill to be moved into surgery. Veterinarians and nursing staff were so kind, thoughtful, caring and considerate to Jack and me during this awful time, when I had to say farewell to my beautiful boy. This is a great local animal health center. The staff is very caring and accommodating. The facilities are modern and the ambiance is pleasant. We had to book in in an emergency, as our local vet was not open at the time, and received all the attention and the cure on the spot. And now we have made the Black Rock our preferred choice.
