Sam Ma & Tina Ma joined while stage 2 was being built in 2004. Stage 3 was completed in 2005. So Southern Cross Atrium was built in 3 stages.

Terrible manager. Such a shame since the apartment location was very handy for exploring the city. We checked out of the air bnb which was a room in THEIR APARTMENT. And because when we checked out at 10 and our transfer was at 3 that meant ages out in the city with our luggage. The manager wouldn’t even hold our bags behind the reception counter. The only nice person was the gentleman that did try and help us out at first before the female manager overheard. I’m not ever going to book through them if I ever come back to cairns. Terrible first impression.

This place is great! I can’t fault it. Our room was great it’s the deluxe room, it includes a full kitchen with dishwasher. Seperate bedroom with king size bed, built in wardrobe, bathroom has a washer & dryer, we had 2 balconies, the large one has a 2 seater lounge,outdoor table and chairs for 4,with shutters to block out the light or privacy and ceiling fan to keep you cool, some rooms overlook the pool, There are 3 pools and they are all great, bbq facilities as well as bbq seating, there is also a small gym and sauna. Felix rooms are serviced every 3rd day. Not a lot of parking, but there

Liked · The cleaning crew had done an impeccable job, and should be commended on their professionalism. Gardens are well maintained. On site parking was a plus.
Disliked · No where on the booking or apartment website did it warn that: The train tracks run directly behind the apartments on the pool side, and these trains tend to come past at 5.oo am blasting the very loud train horn. Then there's the delivery trucks by the neighbouring mall, anytime between 5 - 7 am, with loud banging of those heavy doors. Gardening & pool maintenance also commences around 6am, so if you're on the ground

Great spot but lose a star for not being able to use the sauna.
Not good 4 my detox week & the very reason I wanted to stay there.
Very handy to town though.
Bit noisy over school holidays.
They all get a bit xey around Cairns show time. Nice units.
Bath wouldve been handy in me 1 bed unit I enjoyed.

Noises in the wall, (a consistent rattle), think it was the plumbing. I noticed a damp musty smell coming from the lower kitchen cabinets. The mattress very firm, so not comfortable at all. This place is a walkable distance to the cafes and restaurants(probably 1k), however it got a bit too much to do every day, especially if you have had a big day out exploring. Next time i would stay closer to the esplanade.

We stayed for 3 nights in the deluxe one bedroom apartment. Check in with Taka the young man in reception was good he was really helpful.The apartment was nice although there wasn't enough toilet paper and we had to ask for more which a lady in reception wasn't really nice about, she also wasn't very friendly on checkout. She didn't ask how our stay was or even say 'have a good day', it was a bit odd. Management takes a 200 dollar bond on check-in and there are a big list of rules in the apartment that have to be followed to get bond back. It felt a little cold and unwelcoming and we were nervous
