Brighton Family & Women's Clinic is a general medical practice based in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton. Our team of 15 GPs offer specialised care across all aspects of healthcare including men's, women's, family and children's health. This practice was started by Dr Kathryn De Garis in her home in 1988 and rapidly grew to become the large and very professional practice that we see today.
Generally new patients are very welcome at our clinic but sometimes in times of peak demand this may not be immediately possible. Our friendly receptionists will always do their best to arrange a suitable time for you in the near future. When you attend our clinic as a new patient we usually make a 30 minute appointment for you, as the doctor needs the extra time to get to know you and your medical and family history.
Our team of very experienced and highly qualified Doctors offers you the highest standard of general medical care at our lovely Brighton clinic. Each of our 15 Doctors have their own areas of special expertise and interest. Between them they cover all of your health care needs. Dr. Jane Isaac holds a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a certificate in skin cancer medicine.

A GP Management Plan involves you, your GP and another health care provider, who, with your consent and assistance, form a written plan of management outlining your care. Your medical, physical, psychological and social needs are all considered during the development of the plan.
This would be most beneficial for patients with long-term medical conditions that last longer than 6 months, such as diabetes, asthma, heart disease, arthritis, palliative care, etc.Once the Management Plan is developed, you will then make an appointment with your doctor to discuss the findings and recommendations.

My first visit to this clinic left a great impression. The reception staff were cheerful, friendly, and welcoming. Dr. Steve Foster saw me and instantly made me feel comfortable. He meticulously reviewed my medical history and addressed my issue with utmost professionalism. I will definitely continue coming to this clinic and highly recommend it.

I have been visiting this clinic since 2009, typically seeing a GP once or twice a year. The clinic provides fantastic patient care. Dr. Maria Sullivan is my favorite doctor, and I always try to see her when I can. The other doctors I've seen have also been excellent. The customer service is outstanding, making it evident that they genuinely care about their patients.

This clinic is fantastic. I don't know what people are complaining about. The reception staff always look extremely busy handling people between calls booking appointments. They seem like an efficient power team of women to me.
Doctors are highly professional and knowledgeable.
While it does upset me to think not all people can afford such fantastic care, I do appreciate it.
2021 edit: they have become so busy I can never get an appointment. All the doctors seem to be part time so when I do online script request sometimes they don't come through for a week.

The time between appointments is outrageous. The excellent doctor Manu Rao keeps telling my elderly mother that she MUST be seen on a fortnightly basis. Whenever my mother tries to arrange this, the staff tell her that she has to wait up to a month. She is awaiting numerous test results and the added anxiety on top of the pandemic to wait for these results against the doctor's request is simply unacceptable.

The clinic manager and some of the staff’s attitude left a lot to be desired. They do not listen to what you have to say over the phone and talk over you.
I contacted the clinic nearly 2 months ago and I’m still waiting for a respond from the staff/Dr Sullivan. Will not be returning as they do not place emphasis on their patients.
Update: I contacted the Practice Manager, Philippa and understood that the clinic manager I spoke to previously was not who she claimed to be. Philippa was quick to address and resolved the issue.

When our local doctor retired a couple of years ago I decided to try BFWC. To my delight I found Kathleen the medical receptionist had moved to this clinic.
I find the reception staff, especially Kathleen!, always patient and friendly.
And Dr Sari Erlicht is patient, kind and VERY thorough.

I've been to this clinic twice and I found the reception staff to be caring and helpful. The two doctors I saw, Dr Kate Naylor and Dr Maria Sullivan are both extremely caring and professional. And the nurse, Willamina ( the Dutch nurse) was great as well. I can't recommend this clinic highly enough.It is expensive, especially for someone like me who is on a pension. ( I have to live on $960 per fortnight and it cost $180 to see Dr Sullivan. But, I was with her for at least half an hour, and she rang a cardiologist while I was there to make sure that the medication she wanted to give me was absolutely

Highest possible recommendation for Dr Kate Naylor. There is simply no way to adequately express how exceptional the skills are of this "One in a Million" dedicated and highly professional medical practitioner. Dr Kate goes over above for every single one of her patients. She dedicates the time and research (often in her own personal time) to ensure her patients receive the best possible treatment available. She is a doctor that really cares and really listens. There is no other doctor I could recommend more strongly. I highly suspect if you book an appointment with Dr Kate, you will agree with

Been visiting this clinic for over 5+ years. Have seen different doctors here with myself and my family.
Despite the other comments reception are generally pretty friendly and switched on. The nursing team and Doctors are excellent and highly recommended.
My only improvement would be an addition of an email address - I just don't have time to be calling up and being on hold for enquiries.
