Nick, Virginia and the team were amazing! So wonderful helping us to organise and plan our wedding. Nothing was too hard for them to do and they are always so friendly and accommodating to any request. They really made our wedding the most amazing and memorable day for us and all of our family, even those celebrating via zoom. Highly recommend them and we will be back to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays at their restaurant ❤️.

Not only was the food incredible (best seafood ever!), the staff were so attentive, considerate and respectful. My partner and I assumed because they have been running this place for some time they must have kept the old values, morals and integrity. We where humbled by the whole experience. Definitely returning! Especially with others to share. The decor and establishment was very elegant and fancy. All round, very good experience. A nice place for a respectable date night, family event or just a very nice place to take friends to please.

A very bad experience for someone applying for a position at this venue. A young man having his very first interview for his very first job. On meeting the boss he felt very uncomfortable . The boss was very abrupt and abusive. After watching and listening to the way he was treating other staff/people decided this was not for him. He waited, knocked on door, told him this job wasn't for him, on walking out he was followed being filmed and threatened with police. He now has very high anxiety about even looking for any type of position. Be aware if you are not the right person.

Went for dinner with my partner on Friday and we had a fantastic experience! The staff are all friendly and it was lovely to meet both owners as they were checking in on everyone. The food was 5 star quality with big portion sizes and well worth the visit. We will be returning again - thank you The Golden OX for a great experience. Regards, Liz and Michael

Dined here last night for my birthday and it is the best meal we have had since arriving in Australia 14 months ago! The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the atmosphere was wonderful & relaxed. The staff were friendly, attentive & prompt and the hosts; the owners Nick & Virginia were fantastic and made our experience there even more enjoyable. Nick even presented me with a bottle of wine as I was leaving, which was such a nice touch and completely topped off a wonderful evening. By far the best & restaurant on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Always great service by the friendly staff. Measures up to the top Melbourne & Sydney restaurants. Menu gives variety at affordable prices. Great place for family gatherings, birthdays, celebrations & special outings.

We went for a combined birthday dinner and farewell to our relief manager.
The meal was excellent overall. A surprise to find such a nice place on the peninsular. The meals were all very good, the salad seemed to have a few too many flavours (just saying...).
The wine selected was definitely a great match with the food.
The staff started out a little tentative, but they were training a new girl at the same time. I think they warmed up to us after the entrees were served and then became quite fun. Very dry sense of humor, which can be difficult for some - not us.

Out of all the places that I've dined at in the Redcliffe area, The Golden Ox is definitely one place to go to and feast up.
It was a Thursday night and we had driven out to Margate to see some old friends of ours and catch up over dinner. Upon their suggestion, we all met up at The Golden Ox for the much raved about steak night. When we arrived, because none of us made a booking, we were forced into the bar to wait for a table.
