The Veterinarian Practice
The Vet Practice is a full-service animal hospital and canine rehab centre in Whittlesea, Victoria with a dedicated team of veterinarians and a variety of advanced medical services you're unlikely to find at other general practices. We provide for virtually all of your pet's needs under one roof, so you can expect convenient and consistent care at every visit.

From routine preventative care and in-depth diagnostics to rehabilitation, we give pet parents the ability to stay with the same vet and not have to travel great distances or pay the extra costs for a specialty referral. We're focused on understanding your pet's health and needs, and helping you make the best decisions regarding their care at every stage of their life.
Services
Our doctors are passionate about making pets healthy and truly understanding their needs so they can live their best lives with their loving families. We take pride in our ability to offer a wide variety of advanced and integrative treatments in addition to our general services, which gives your pet a complete, well-rounded healthcare program.
The Vet Practice offers those interested in a veterinary career a friendly, fast-paced environment where they can learn, grow, and carry forward our high standard of care. If you are dedicated to helping animals and people and want to further your abilities with a team of committed, compassionate pet lovers, then consider joining The Vet Practice in Whittlesea, Victoria.
At The Vet Practice in Whittlesea, Victoria, we aim to take the uncertainty out of veterinary care and help pet owners meet their animals' ever-evolving needs. Pet exams are essential to every dog and cat because they're the first step we take to provide quality, tailored care for your companion. Puppies, kittens, and adult and senior pets all have their own age-related needs, and our goal is to keep every pet on track from one year to the next.
You can protect your four-legged family member from all kinds of dangers, but cat and dog vaccinations are the only way to keep "invisible" enemies like distemper and parvovirus at bay. At The Vet Practice in Whittlesea, we recommend a combination of core (essential for all pets) and non-core (lifestyle-based) vaccines to give your pet the best protection possible.
Healthy pets have healthy mouths. If your pet has bad breath and yellowish teeth, chances are they need to see their vet for a dental exam and cleaning. You might be surprised to know that most dogs and cats over 3 years old have dental disease to a certain extent, even though the condition itself can be prevented easily enough with proper care and treatment.

When I came to having my beautiful Cat put to rest the other day at the clinic .I felt so reassured and saw how compassionate and gentle Dr Greg was .He spoke to us moments before I felt so at ease during this… hard time .He showed so much care towards my girl .I like the way the room is set up away from everyone so you can concentrate on your animal in a relaxed atmosphere.

Very dynamic vet with everything you need in one place. Lovely, caring and commited team. One of our dogs had a cruciate ligament injury and had to stay for 3 days. We got updated photos and texts morning and night. He was treated so well. Amazing rehab program also. We ended up becoming regular customers after our dogs surgery.

The Vet Practice have helped me with two of my pooches one with Ivdd and the other with epilepsy, to say they do an outstanding job is an understatement. They make sure my dogs have the best quality of life possible as well as the best vet care.

They make early appointments that they can't keep. Make my dog wait streesed for 30mins on three separate occasions. Don't answer the phone, the front door is locked. Then when left with no option other than to bang on the door because your dog is freaking out streesed. I then get told I should've rang the bell at the front. I ask to be shown the bell as I had no idea there was one, and the person showing me the bell can't even operate it. Asking to be contacted by the concierge my partner is told I was abusive and swearing to staff, my partner not even able to get a word in. They change their

I have been taking my dogs to the vet practice for a few years now, but over the last 18 months have spent a lot of time there.
They saved my puppies life at around the 15 week age, he had to spend a little time in the hospital and they were fantastic with him. We were able to go and visit him while he was there which was great for the kids.
He has since had a double hip replacement and does his rehabilitation at Whittlesea and the staff are awesome. They are so caring and thoughtful.
I highly recommend the vet practice.

I had always had a high opinion of this vet for their knowledge on new research and their good local reputation but I am left a bit shocked and disappointed in their duty of care after failing to inform me of… an incident with my dog. I have selected to recommend them which gives them 5* but I think that's now really only 3*. After having a blood test my girl came home with a nasty sore in the crease of her neck which due to being a bit fluffier in lockdowns, I did not notice until 3 days later when it had a yellowy crust. I would have appreciated being told she was shaved to get access

This is a slick operation designed to make money. The practice certainly offers a broad range of treatments and services not available at ordinary vets, and the vets are nice, but it is clear that the vets are mandated to push the “Rolls Royce” of treatments and you’ll end up spending a fortune, which is a shame.
I was made to feel incredibly… guilty for not keeping my dog in hospital on a drip for diarrhoea for more than 24 hours at over $1000 per day after he showed no symptoms and had no fever and the vets couldn’t give me a reason for why he should stay in other

My fur baby (Jack Russell) is 12 years old and sadly age caught up with him. He had spinal surgery just over 12 months ago. I had read great reviews about The Vet Practice and chose them for rehabilitation/ physiotherapy for my boy. We’ve been weekly visitors for rehabilitation since December My boy has given us a couple of health scares over the time where he was touch and go if he’ll make it due to other medical issues. I am so thankful for all the care and dedication they keep providing to keeping Deefer well. He’s currently having laser therapy and hyperbaric therapy and an ongoing frequent

I love The Vet Practice! I take my dachshund there for rehab fortnightly after trying about 4 different vet clinics and being disappointed with each one :( . Their services & dedication don’t compare to others, all their rehab staff are fantastic, we live about an hour away but it’s definitely worth the travel! 100% would recommend

The whole team is amazing and go out of their way to ensure my dogs and I are well looked after. They certainly went over and above for us today and I really can't thank them enough. My girl took a long time to recover from a procedure and they were fantastic in their care and communication. Thanks team x. We also do rehab with my boy and the team is very thorough , sending detailed emails, regular check ups and encouragement.

Very lovely staff. We’ve used them for our dog treatments and follow ups. We always leave satisfied with our dogs care.
Sadly had to take two of our dogs there to be put to rest but how sympathetic, caring for us and our dogs during the time by their staff. They were simply amazing. I couldn’t ask for more and I thank them for that.

I took my darling boy, Finnegan, to The Vet Practice after recommendations from both my local vet in Eltham and Lort Smith.
I cannot express how wonderful, caring and attentive they have been. Finn has received exceptional care from the moment we arrived and it continues and is unfaltering.
I cannot recommend the practice highly enough. Their staff are outstanding from reception through to the vet nurses to the veterinarians.

So rude and disorganised you don’t no if your coming or going. Maybe a hi how are you when you scan in, and maybe pets who don’t listen to there owners should wait outside instead of unsettling other people’s pets. Total waste of time driving in bad weather and dirtying the car for nothing.

The staff at the Vet Practice are second to none and even though it is far from where we live, the services and staff are the best we have come across! My old boy Baxter recently had surgery for a torn ligament. Vet, Rebecca made sure his age and condition were carefully managed to ensure his operation was successful. The ongoing care Baxter has… received during his rehab has also been exceptional. Ashlee and Aurora have been patient, caring and above all professional with their treatment....and even when I ring and ask a silly question, reception staff (Melissa & more) treat me with

We could not recommend Whittlesea Vet Practice more highly. We were recommended to seek a second opinion from Whittlesea, in particular Dr Malcolm when we had received devastating advice from another clinic, after our kelpie "Lucifer" had been involved in a sever accident.
Malcolm and his expert, caring team not only saved our boys life but also his leg. Through their expert care, patience and love our boy now runs happily pain free.
We found everyone at the Clinic extremely professional, dedicated and caring. We would never take our precious boy anywhere else again, nor would our family and

My beautiful almost 14 year old Labrador, Stitch, is primarily cared for by Dr Jess and Dr Nisha who are very kind, competent and compassionate vets. Last week, it was discovered that Stitch had a tumour on his… spleen. Dr Nisha was extremely patient in answering my many, many questions and she performed the surgery with amazing results. Stitch spent two nights in hospital and the lovely nurses sent regular updates and photos. We felt completely at ease leaving Stitch in their care as they are always so kind to him. Stitch has now been home for two nights and he is recovering incredibly
