Jan Crisp is registered as a Yoga Therapist through Yoga Australia, and is the founder of Yogagrin. She has been studying yoga, yoga therapy, and meditation seriously since 2013 with gurus in Nepal, India and Australia. Jan's serene, compassionate and empathetic nature will soon put you at ease. Firstly, Yoga Therapy is not a 'style' of yoga. It's a natural, holistic health modality based on an ancient medical science. As a Yoga Therapist, I apply the teachings and practices of yoga in a therapeutic setting. Another point is, most yoga teachers aim to attract as many people as possible to group classes.
I expected very little when referred to Jan, as I doubted that yoga could help me. I was so very wrong. Jan is a wonderful, caring, considerate and insightful woman who's passion for yoga is very infectious. In the limited sessions we had she has shared with me various activities that I now carry out twice a day.
Yogagrin's classes and programs are exceptional value for money, especially given Jan is a qualified Yoga Therapist with over 1000 hours of professional yoga teacher training and over 5 years teaching experience. Plus she is committed to continuing professional development. As such, Yogagrin doesn't offer concessions, but Jan does offer sponsorship for those in need.

I had had no experience at all with yoga until I participated in an introductory session with Jan. I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed it and found it relaxing and helpful. So, when I was diagnosed with a serious illness, i determined that Yoga would form a key part of managing my illness and treatment effects. So, I of course turned to Jan for help. Hi, I just finished a 4 week yoga therapy course with Jan. I found her very welcoming. I also appreciate the fact that she always made sure all in the course were comfortable with the pace or learning and of the exercises.
I even found her voice and the rhythm of her speech very effective for this healing modality. Highly recommended.

I have really enjoyed Jan's yoga classes as they always vary to include both old and new content, as well as slight variation in level of difficulty. As such, you become familiar with some core poses/breathing techniques, while also always learning new things. Jan is very gentle and encouraging and attentive to all students, making them feel at ease.
