We offer a wide selection of different general medicine services to tailored to our patient's needs. Annual health check-ups are a great way to take stock of your health and identify factors which may be putting you at a higher risk. There is no standard health check-up for anyone as family history, pre-existing illness and medication that you are on can change the review intervals.
When undertaking a skin check the Doctor will first take an in-depth history of the health of your skin and assess your risk factors for skin cancer. They will then move onto performing a full skin assessment. The findings of the examination will be discussed, recommendations will be personalised depending on your individual skin cancer risk factors.
Conception is an important and personal decision. Our clinic can assist you with various conception methods and our friendly team is experienced to help guide you through the process. Implanon is a single, flexible sub-dermal implant which is 4cm x 2mm in size and contains 68mg of a synthetic progestogen called etonogestrel.
We offer a rapid iron infusion service, with the use of Ferinject, for the management of Iron Deficiency Anaemia. Ferinject is a special type of iron preparation given through a needle into a vein over 20 minutes, and requires you to stay for observation for a further 30 minutes. Rarely (in under 1% of cases) it can cause mild allergic reactions.

Today I came to see Dr Horwood for a Dive Medical and it was such a positive experience. Everyone was efficient, very kind, thorough and professional. Don't understand the negative Google reviews here. Sometimes you just have to wait and be patient with our medical professionals who are already under huge pressure. Please be kind.

I initially went to Merthyr Road Medical Centre which was appalling. Merthyr road medical centre misdiagnosed me, didn’t book me in for scans and had awful customer service with over an hour wait. The GP’s rush you in and out, don’t care and are incompetent.
Highly recommend Albert Street CBD medical centre. They have been fantastic. Have a holistic approach, have put me in touch with specialists and did a thorough job.

First doctor I saw was useless and seemed very uninterested in treating me, ended up diagnosing myself and told him where to send me. 2nd doctor was better but because I had to go over everything the first doctor missed I was charged a longer consult, only to be given a diagnosis of "f#ck knows what that is"

Dr Kondos attends the Aged Care place where my family has a relative. He is dealing with vulnerable people yet shows no empathy or warmth, is completely clinical. Not even a smile. Everything appears to be 'treated' in five minutes flat. Clearly he is someone going through his paces with little concern or connection to his patients. Might be time for retirement.

There are some very fine doctors at this medical centre. This review is for Dr Michael Horwood specifically, since he is the doctor I had the misfortune of seeing. If Dr Horwood is the only so-called professional on offer, I suggest you walk away as quickly as you can. Instead consult your mother, one of the amiable staff members at the adjacent New Farm Deli, or indeed your dog, for you will likely receive more empathy and no less intelligent medical opinion than you will receive from 'Dr' Horwood. He is shambolic, dismissive, condescending and a disgrace to his profession.

The WORST GP I have ever been to.
I went to them to be referred to a psychologist. I told them about my history of domestic violence experiences since i was little, then about my attempt in Year 3, then to other matters that ought to be 'concerning' including my depression, insomnia, and anxiety I have for two+ years. He proceeded to send a referral to only ONE psychologist and said, you will probably be able to get appointed in three-four months- with no sense of urgency or sympathy. He didn't even give me the mental health plan which I didn't know about until my friend asked me about it.
