Great location, Japanese restaurant, corner shop, fish and chips, coffee and beach very close. Rooms were spotless, lovely established gardens and off road parking. One night was quite windy which resulted, naturally, in some leaf debris falling into the pool. I simply alerted the staff and it was cleaned up promptly, some guests even helped out! Loved the friendly faces around the retreat. Also, much to my delight...the air conditioning, fridge and freezer worked a treat. The only down side of my stay was that the beach was closed to swimming due to Irukanji jellyfish. Luckily the pool at Reef

Me and my partner decided to book here for a change to our usual hotel as something different. Going away was a bit stressful as it was due to personal matters but being in this hotel for a short half an hour i… was extremely stressed, worried, anxious, on edge and didnt feel very safe either. When we got there we noticed the place didnt look like the pictures, the pool looked really dirty, green full of algae and other stuff sitting on the bottom of the pool and it looked like the pool hadnt been cleaned in a while. Once we got taken to our room we noticed our balcony door didnt shut properly

This was the 4th time we have stayed at the reef retreat and once again Jim, Joanne, Alan and Ingrid looked after us beautifully… there is nothing they wouldn’t do for us…. We had other family staying with us…they had little children, so the pool and close proximity to the beach was great. We had other family who were supposed to be with us from Melbourne…they couldn’t make it, because of lockdown, but as soon as they can get out of Victoria, we will be back….we love this place…. It is the best. Thanks to you all…

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights last week. The room was spotless clean and exactly as described online. The pool was beautiful and very well maintained. Location was great, just a few meters to the beach. Check in/out was smooth and they provided us with private off road parking. Would definitely stay here again.

The stay was OK. The room was pleasant, clean (though smelt heavily of bleach) and had a nice little balcony. Good location, being central in Palm Cove and very close to the beach. However, the shower was awful, it had very little water pressure and took 5-10 minutes to heat up. There was also construction going on right outside our room which was pretty annoying, but that's not the hotels fault. The main reason though that I won't be staying again is the lack of professionalism from the staff. We booked directly through the website and received a confirmation email saying one nights deposit was

We loved everything about The Reef Retreat, from the friendly staff, the warm pool surrounded by gorgeous trees to the close proximity to everything Palm Cove has on offer.
The Reef Retreat is exceptionally well maintained and the cleanliness of everything is excellent.

Everything you need and a nice pool area. A bit of a shame there is no sound proofing however as all the windows are shutter blinds and that's a pain when your neighbours have a shower at 3am with squealing pipes and the current construction next door who start at 6am! But that was our bad luck. I'm sure this place would be well for others in future. Only other downfall was no reception at 8am and 5pm when I tried to find someone.

My partner and I had the best time staying here. We spent 5 nights in a beautiful spa room overlooking the pool.
The room was neat and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the entire atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The pool is heated and pleasant to swim in at any time plus it is open at all hours so a midnight swim looking up at the stars is absolutely doable.

Perfect for a family of 5 adults and 2 kids for a week over Xmas. We had the three bedroom apartment on the top floor among the beautiful paperback trees and the bird life. Three bathrooms, three kitchens,
two balconies, spacious and comfortable with a nice tropical vibe. The grounds are wonderful with well established native trees, a swimming pool and hot tub plus a big clean BBQ and outdoor lounge area. If you want a tropical home away from home on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef with a backdrop of the Great Dividing Range, this is it. It's very private although a new property is going
