Emily first started Pilates eighteen years ago to complement her classical ballet training and help avoid injuries. After a career with the European Ballet Company, Emily took up full-contact karate, competing in tournaments in Australia and Japan. She's been teaching Studio Pilates in Melbourne now for fourteen years and draws on her extensive experience with dance and martial arts to develop her style of Pilates.
Pilates is an opportunity to improve our bodies and re-train our posture. An individualized program teaches you how to move your body more efficiently, focusing on the use of specific muscles. The small class size and the type of training done with Pilates means that we can be very specific during the class and make sure everything is performed with the correct technique.
Our studio classes are perfect for any stage of pregnancy (pre-natal and post- natal). Studio classes are one hour sessions that are run as a very small group (max four participants) classes. The classes are tailored towards your pregnancy needs. Everybody is different during their pregnancy and sometimes you need a very modified exercise routine.
Our personalised studio sessions are the most popular way to learn Pilates and gain the benefits of an individualised program and close supervision. Suitable for any body and any age, the class size is small, with only 3-4 people per class. You will use specialised Pilates equipment such as the reformer, trapeze table & stability chair.
Private/couples classes give you the opportunity to gain maximum attention to detail from your instructor. This high level of care assists in correcting posture, promoting correct movement and being sure you are completing each repetition of each movement, correctly. Maintaining correct form in your exercise means the right muscle groups are targeted, which improves functional strength and helps with injury prevention.

If I could give 20 stars - I would! Had my first consultation this morning with Shae and was feeling a little nervous being a first timer. She set me completely at ease, we got right into it, going through the physical motions as she explained. If you've ever considered Pilates before and felt nervous for whatever reason then this is the place for you! I left feeling amazing and booking some group sessions that I'm looking forward to. Start today and tomorrow you'll be glad that you did.
