Diamond Creek Memorial Kindergarten is a not-for-profit community based organisation, striving to meet the needs of families in the local community since its establishment in 1965. We offer curriculum for 3 year old and preschool aged children, as well as an extended hours care program.

As an incorporated association, we are required to adhere to our constitution and operate under the National Quality Framework for Australia- the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning and Development Framework for Australia (EYLF) and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework: Birth to 8 years (VEYLDF).
Services
At Diamond Creek Memorial Kindergarten (Collins Street and Coniston Street campuses), we believe that children are motivated to learn from birth and develop best when they feel safe and secure. We know positive interaction and sensitive, nurturing relationships are fundamental elements for all children to thrive and develop during their early years.
Diamond Creek Memorial Kindergarten is managed by a volunteer committee where members can include parents, past and present, and community members. As a community, we believe in our committee's role in providing good governance and in establishing a positive legacy for future users of the kindergarten.
The learning environments has one dedicated kinder room with break out areas including an atelier, sustainability garden, project spaces and an enclosed decking (Collins Street) and verandah (Coniston Street) providing year round weather protection to support indoor- outdoor play. Large nature inspired outdoor learning environments at both campuses which the children often refer to as 'the garden' is part of the all weather curriculum.
Diamond Creek Memorial Kindergarten and its community are committed to the continuous improvement of services, curriculum and the learning environments at both the Collins Street and Coniston Street campuses. It is important to ensure all voices are heard; management, families, educators and children.
Educators are active in their professional development and in reflecting on their teaching practices and pedagogy so as to provide experiences that make a difference to a child's life at every moment.

For over 25 years, I have worked in many roles across the early year's sector; as an teacher, director, training manager, early years incursion facilitator and curriculum development manager; working in schools, for private companies, in the community sector and not-for-profit organisations and have been fortunate to spend some time supporting teachers in Timor Leste.
