Hungerford Hill is one of the Hunter Valley's great success stories. From our humble beginnings in the 1960s, we've grown over the past 50-odd years to incorporate the award-winning Sweetwater vineyard as well as the famous Dalwood vineyard, which is considered the birthplace of Australian wine and the country's oldest continually operating vineyard.
The Hesperia vineyard is located in Tumbarumba, NSW. This is a high altitude, cold climate area in the western foothills of the Snowy Mountain ranges. It has long cold winters with frequent snow, followed by warm summer days and cool nights.

Services
At Hungerford Hill, we take great pride in our long-standing reputation for producing distinguished wines and providing unforgettable experiences. Guided by Bryan Currie, our highly accomplished and award-winning winemaker, the Hungerford team consistently produces wines of character and interest that focus on the Hunter Valley and NSW's cool-climate regions including Hilltops and Tumbarumba.
Red wines from multiple regions, offering a perfect pick for every palate. With wines to celebrate and wines to savour our collection supplies a perfect choice for every occasion. With a series including our Classic, Single Vineyard, Epic Shiraz, Heavy Metal and Museum Release there are integrated flavours, complex and classic, created by us with enjoyment and appreciation in mind.
Deep red in colour, a heightened aroma of mocha coffee and spicy dark fruits with a creamy vanillan oak background note. The palate is both powerful and voluminous with layers of unravelling flavour of plumb and blueberry fruits balanced with very fine and structured tannins that linger. Inspired by the original plantings, the Tempranillo & Touriga are now back in this historic vineyard, reviving the property of this rich history.
Semillon from the Hunter Valley is a distinctive and unique wine. Pale, vibrant and light bodied when young and develops incredible texture, richness and complexity with bottle age. The warm dry 2020 vintage allowed perfectly ripe fruit resulting in a wine with aromas of lemon peel and lemon curd combined with a finely textured palate and bright acidity.
Hunter Valley has its own distinctive Semillon, unique and identifiable, proudly perfected by Hungerford Hills. With fresh fruit flavours, aromas of citrus, hints of unexpected spice and acidity, there is a refreshing and complex Semillon wine to meet all preferences. White wines that are grown in a range of regions, including our Dalwood Estate Semillon grown on the Southbank of the Hunter River.

We always have a great time at Hungerford Hill, definitely a must visit. Be sure to do the Epic Tasting, the wines and matched canapés from Muse are outstanding and such a great way to highlight Hunter. I recommend skipping breakfast and booking your epic tasting in the morning here before a big day of Hunter exploring.

Easily the best wine tasting experience I've ever had! We were served by Nick who was very knowledgeable and he delivered the information in a very funny & entertaining way. I've experienced tasting where the staff just pour the wines with a bit of explanation and walked off. Nick was totally the opposite, he asked what kind of wine we like and then gave us the wines that we would like (plus some extra tasting that's not on the menu ;) ). We spent close to 2 hours for the tasting, it was worth it. The wines were great and we ended up buying a couple of bottles. Thanks Nick for such a great experience

From the moment we drove into the estate we were just incredible impressed with how the whole establish looked and felt. The manicured vineyard and grassed areas, the buildings... just stunning!
Tasting rooms themselves are just class...
We did the standard tasting which was 8 wines, there was a large selection to work through. Whites, reds and sweet / fortifieds, including sparkling whites and reds; we enjoyed them all. Tasting fees were $10 per person, redeemable on purchase.
My favorites were the 2017 Sparkling Dalliance and the NV “Cardinal” Sparkling Shiraz.@

Me and my husband had great wine tasting experience. We were attended by beautiful Lilly, who was very pleasant and knowledgeable about all different wines. She made us feel very welcome. We Really enjoyed the experience of wine tasting and bought few bottles of wine. I would definitely go back there to buy more wines and would recommend that place for wine tasting to my friends.

This winery is amazing. What a wonderful experience.
There is an amazing young lady “Lilly” who is a gorgeous soul. She has a beautiful sense of humour and knowledge of wine and food pairings that made the visit an absolute delight. We herein reserve the comfy brown leather chairs in the ‘Epic Room’ as the Sanderson Partners corner.
Thank you Lilly and thank you to the family at Hungerford Hill for putting together a facility with such warm ambience to facilitate an experience that my wife and our friends absolutely treasured.
We will be back.
