Barratt Wines
The Barratt family welcomes you to its official website and hope you'll take the time to explore its content and enjoy its rich texture and surprises. Barratt Wines, acclaimed for its award-winning specialty Pinot Noir, is a family-owned and operated winery located in the Piccadilly Valley; a premium grape-growing region of South Australia's Adelaide Hills.

Since 2012, all grapes are sourced from a single vineyard, 'Uley', to produce quality wines handcrafted to exacting standards. Adelaide Hills is very typically cool climate: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot are the varieties to shine and flourish in this subregion.
Services
The wine displays citrus, tropical fruit, elderflower and herbaceous aromas followed by a palate with persistent fruit flavours, minerality and tingling citrusy acidity. Grapes sourced exclusively from our Uley vineyard at the northern end of the Piccadilly Valley. After crushing and gentle pressing, initial juice analysis showed a Baum of 13.0 degrees, pH 3.12 and titratable acid of 8.1 g/litre.
Only 20 minutes from the city centre, nestled in the stunning Piccadilly Valley of the Adelaide Hills, lies the Barratt Uley Vineyard and Cellar Door. Here, you can enjoy complimentary tastings of our current release wines, and make purchases by the glass or bottle. The Barratt Cellar Door is so much more than a 'wine tasting'.
The 25 acre property of Uley comprises 15 acres of vines, nine acres of bushland and 2 acres of stunning gardens - featuring a majestic tulip tree, claret ash, Japanese maples, silver birches, acers, dogwoods, camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, hydrangeas and more. Take an enchanting stroll around the garden when you come and visit us at cellar door.
Our cellar door will be open each weekend through the month of April including Easter Saturday and Sunday. Opening times are from 11am to 4pm. Still enjoying its youth, this wine is pale straw in colour with citrus, stone fruit, butterscotch, cashews and brioche dominating the nose and palate. Persistence yet freshness are features of the palate.
Lindsay was previously a Physician and retired entirely from Medicine in 2001 to realise his dream of handcrafting the wine from beginning to end - growing and caring for the vines (which he has done since 1990 when the Uley property was acquired) and, since 2001, taking the grapes through the process of specialised winemaking.

Wow. I've never had such a rude experience in my life. The old lady that works here was so obnoxious. Should put a big sign out saying "kids and young people not welcome." Won't be back ever.

A great boutique winery with beautiful grounds in the Adelaide Hills. Personable cellar door experience with winemaker Lindsay and wine dogs! All wines were of excellent quality (Chardonnay, Pinot and Merlot) and great value. Winery also comes with a 4.5 out of 5 star rating from James Halliday.
