In 2017 Raisin' Bakery brings a fresh approach to the Perth food scene, offering a delicious French-Japanese fusion of breads and baked goods that are created onsite through a unique fruit based fermentation technique. This technique is known as "Ten'nen kobo" in Japanese, which directly translates as "wild yeast bread".
It is a twist to the normal sourdough starter, involving the use of various kinds of wild yeast cultivated from our choice of dried fruit, raisins. This special technique gives our wild yeast bread its unique and characteristic aroma, taste and crust - served direct to you in our vibrant Shenton Park home.

It was my favourite when it first opened. Haven't been back for a while. Today stopped by for morning tea. Noticed a few new items, including cakes. Matcha cake has nice texture. It's light. However it's too sweet for my taste and the matcha flavour was not prominent. Hubby had cinnamon scroll. Also too sweet. The biggest let down was the coffee. It's bitter and burned. I think it's over brewed.

A small and quaint bakery with decent coffee. I enjoy coming here when ever I am in the area. Self pick pastry display in the middle of the store adds a touch of difference to the normal cafes around. The matcha bun for $2 represents great value.
Bar seating with an open view to the bakery operations and production is a great spot to sit if you're interested in seeing the products being made, otherwise there's other seating options available albeit limited to a few small groups... nevertheless an enjoyable visit.
