Baba Sus is a pan-Asian cafe with childhood memories from Japan, Taiwan and Thailand which reappear in the form of Hong Kong egg waffles with vanilla custard and green tea ice cream (the cafe's signature dish) and The Piglette - a ka prao (Thai basil) pork omelette with an Asian salad. Both are quite substantial, meaning you can have them for either breakfast or lunch.
The cafe is a few steps away from Burwood Railway Station. If you're in a rush, pick up a coffee through the express window, made with beans from Brewhouse Coffee Roasters in Bendigo. If you seek to stray from your regular routine, powerful Vietnamese coffee and Oolong tea are also available. The interior is modern and clean, allowing attention to fall on kitsch little mementos including Japanese crockery and figurines.

Located on a quiet corner of Glen Iris, Baba Sus has the potential to be a successful destination cafe.
It's selection of food (Asian fusion influences with a strong and much-welcomed emphasis on porky offerings) and drinks is pretty good and different from standard fare.
We did enjoy sitting outside on this nice, sunny day but there were drawbacks. An almost 30-minute wait for our food felt like 45 because they took awhile to take our orders.
The actual quality of what we got in terms of drinks were slightly diluted versions. As for the food, the soba with salmon was decent but the rice grains

Baba Sus is an Asian fusion style cafe in Glen Iris. It has a cosy and modern cafe vibe and interior. All the food was delicious and cooked pretty well. The confit pork was crunchy, tender and abit chewy. The salad accompanying the pork was fresh and well balanced. The ramen was not bad. And the dessert was quite unique mixing various elements like the berry compote with custard and ice cream. Overall definitely recommend a visit for brunch.

Asian fusion cafe, we loved the HongKong egg waffle, custard are great to taste with highlights of berries, crispy waffle too!
Congee is something rare in cafe, I like the congee but maybe not all the toppings. Baba bao I reckon is a good dish, like very stable dish, not difficult to failed the taste!
However, still good food and coffee! Will revisit !

Tasty breakfast. 3.5 stars. Had the congee which was nicely prepared with an excellent tea egg and pork belly. Coffee was good, but a large was served in a paper cup, which isn't ideal. The HK waffles look good for next time. Worth a visit, particularly to break away from boring smashed avo and swap for an Asian breakfast.

Great food as always. Beautiful presentation with good service.
I have been here a few times and am yet to be let down.
The best part is that even on a weekend morning there's usually seating available with no wait. Impressive as it's always busy on Saturday mornings.
Try the Hong Kong egg waffles if you're in the mood for something sweet, or I recommend the Baba Sus if you're there for brunch/lunch.
The beer batter fries are good, but not great.

A little travel to Glen Iris to visit Baba Sus and it was worth it. Great open space with a lot of sunlight, perfect for morning person. Well known for their photogenic Hong Kong Egg Waffle. If you are into sweet brunch, this might be perfect for you. The soft and fragrance egg waffle does mix well with the vanilla custard. I also tried their Vietnamese coffee and it was a great first experience.

Finally somewhere worth going to! As much as I love my local favourites, if someone suggests Baba Sus - I'm in! However I don't know if I can do their review justice as I love their Crumbed eggs with pulled pork and cabbage so much that I've not tried anything else. However I also tasted their 12 hr beef ribs and HK waffle and all are delicious. Just wish it wasn't so busy on weekends. Lots of parking available.

This is a super cute cafe hidden near Burwood station. It's located in the bottom of an apartment building and doesn't have much competition, but even if it did Baba Sus could probably blow them out of the water.
I generally like the food here, it's like an Asian fusion coffee place. The Vietnamese coffee was really tasty with the condensed milk, but we were sitting outside and the table wasn't flat on the sidewalk so the strainer kept just spilling coffee onto my saucer. Oh well.
The CLT (charsiu, LT) had a lot of flavor but proportionally I think the bread was a bit too

What an incredible experience!
This was the first day it was open (I had a little insider info!) and the decor was welcoming & stylish with big windows letting the sunlight in.
Firstly, my partner both went and I and we couldn't decide on what to order so we ended up having 3 breakfasts between the two of us!
The congee (Chinese rice porridge) was recommended. You can't leave this place without trying it. Each mouthful carried a different flavour, it was fresh, tasty, and we almost lucked the bowl.
The Grunter - ham hoc croquettes with mushy peas and poached eggs. I don&apos
